Oaklie came to us with no hair and horrible skin infections. All the infections have been cleared up, he is allergic to many foods and must remain on a special diet. He is very sweet and loves to rub all over his human. Some of his hair has grown back and we hope that more will continue to grow in the future. He has fairly high energy and a rough play style with other dogs.

Meet Bruce 💙 Bruce is a 7-year-old handsome boy with the tiniest ears and the biggest heart. Unfortunately, Bruce has struggled with chronic ear infections for most of his life. After exhausting other options, he now requires surgery on both ears—which will leave him completely deaf. The good news? His surgery will be fully covered and taken care of by Runaways Animal Rescue. Now all Bruce needs is a loving home to stand by him through it all. Penelope is the sweetest most pure soul companion anyone will ever meet. We sadly adopted her with no experience and with a young mentality that she was not going to have high maintenance. She is a shar pei so her skin is SUPER sensitive. Regular vet visits ( every 6 months) are important for her. Other than that she is an outstanding dog who has never once shown any form of aggression. Ill put it like this you can touch her dog bowl when she eats and she shows no mind what so ever. She loves affection, kisses, hugs, cuddles, etc. Shes a very calm and quiet pup.

Teeny came to the shelter as a stray on 3/25/25 and has been waiting far too long for her chance at a home. In playgroup, she tends to keep to herself, offering polite greetings, playing a bit, and showing some mild assertiveness, but overall she is a low-key, calm girl. Volunteers describe her as easy in and out of the kennel, non-reactive to other dogs, and very affectionate once she’s comfortable—she loves sitting close on the bench and soaking up attention. On a recent Snout & About outing to Baseline Trailhead, Teeny did well encountering unfamiliar adults, dogs, and children, enjoyed a Pup Cup at Starbucks, and showed nice leash manners with only mild pulling when curious. She is very treat motivated (especially for Milk-Bones!) and knows how to sit for rewards. Teeny can be a bit unsure in certain situations, such as sudden movements or unfamiliar approaches, but once given time and reassurance she seeks affection and relaxes. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Teeny has the potential to be a wonderful, loving companion who is ready to finally leave the shelter behind.
