Story
Quick Summary (I will update this later to be more concise): -Thor used to belong to my brother & his wife, but due to her allergies she had to rehome him. -I used to live with them & Thor, but after I moved, I acquired 2 cats. I saw my SIL post that she needed to rehome him so I wanted to take him. I figured they'd be able to get along since he's been fine with other cats. He is still good with one of the 2 cats, it's the other cat that won't warm up to him. -I offered to house him until she could find someone else to rehome him to because of her allergies, but each time I checked back in, she wasn't making any progress with finding anyone and eventually communication went sour and they won't take him back. -Looking to rehome to someone who is looking for a young at heart senior dog, he's 8 but acts like a young adult. Major cuddlebug and loves attention. He is kennel trained but we don't use one. He's also prone to ear infections due to his breed (requires hygiene upkeep).

I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION. ONCE APPROVED, PLEASE EMAIL US ( INFO@ANIMALHOUSESHELTER.COM ) OR GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME!   I am 44 lbs., and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 Meet Stanley! This striking American Staffordshire Terrier/Chinese Shar-Pei mix is on the lookout for his forever home—and he’s hoping it might be with you! Stanley is a high-energy guy with a big personality. When he gets excited, he proudly announces it with an adorable little “woo-woo!” that’s sure to make you smile. Stanley is very food motivated and eager to learn, which makes training a fun adventure. He already knows the command “sit” and is currently working hard on mastering “lay down.” With a few tasty treats and some encouragement, this smart boy will be showing off even more skills in no time. Stanley would do best in a home without cats so he can soak up all the love and attention for himself, but he does get along well with other dogs. So what do you say—could “Stan the Man” be the newest member of your household? He’s keeping his paws crossed and his “woo-woo” ready, hoping the answer is yes! Story
Hi, my name is Waffle! If you're looking for a lovable, goofy pup with soft fur and a heart full of love, I might just be your perfect match! I’m about 2 to 3 years old, weigh around 55 pounds, and am likely a Black Mouth Cur possibly mixed with Shar Pei—and about 55 other breeds! I'm your classic Heinz 57. I’m neutered, housebroken, and sleep soundly in my crate at night. I also crate well when left alone during the day. While I’m not currently living with children, based on my gentle demeanor, my foster family believes I’d do great in a home with respectful kids. I get along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes and would thrive with a confident canine buddy by my side. I’m not shy at all—I'm happy to greet new people and dogs with a wag and a smile. I’ve just started discovering the joy of toys and playtime, and I’m having a blast learning how to be a carefree dog. I’m also not bothered by loud noises or sudden sounds—I'm a pretty steady guy. However, I do have a high prey drive, so watch out squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and especially cats—here I come! Because of that, I’d do best in a home without small animals or feline friends. I’m learning to walk nicely on a leash and improving every day. With a little guidance, love, and a consistent routine, I’ll make the perfect, loyal addition to your family. Could I be the Waffle to your morning? I can't wait to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application. Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.
