Story
Hi, I'm Gemma! Thanks for checking me out! I know my cute face is hard to resist, but here's the scoop: I'll need a lot of your time and attention as I grow up into the amazing adult dog I'm destined to be! I'm looking for a forever family that will help me with socialization, training (yes, that includes house training!), and plenty of exercise. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. So, if you're up for the challenge and the fun, why not come meet me in person? Stop by during our adoption hours. For more details, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or give us a call at 847-697-2880 x: 90. The friendly folks here will be happy to answer all your questions! Can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Story
Quick Summary (I will update this later to be more concise): -Thor used to belong to my brother & his wife, but due to her allergies she had to rehome him. -I used to live with them & Thor, but after I moved, I acquired 2 cats. I saw my SIL post that she needed to rehome him so I wanted to take him. I figured they'd be able to get along since he's been fine with other cats. He is still good with one of the 2 cats, it's the other cat that won't warm up to him. -I offered to house him until she could find someone else to rehome him to because of her allergies, but each time I checked back in, she wasn't making any progress with finding anyone and eventually communication went sour and they won't take him back. -Looking to rehome to someone who is looking for a young at heart senior dog, he's 8 but acts like a young adult. Major cuddlebug and loves attention. He is kennel trained but we don't use one. He's also prone to ear infections due to his breed (requires hygiene upkeep).

Jasmin is a precious soul, she is great with all other dogs..Male and female, good with kids and loves all people.. She is calm and just wants to lay at your feet and be closer to her person. She doesn't belong in the kennels and isn't happy at the Rescue. If not ready to adopt, consider fostering so we can get her into a home where she feels safe and content/happy again. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. From Tragedy to Hope — Meet Chula Currently in Texas | Transport Available Born: Senior | &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 61.2 lbs Special Needs: Daily thyroid meds Adoption Fee: $200 (or $300 if adopted with her best friend, Chance) Apply: www.adoggie4you.org One minute, Chula was living the dream—riding in her dad’s truck, snoozing beside his recliner, and sharing the bed with her brother. Then, everything changed. Her dad passed away unexpectedly, and for three long days, Chula stood guard beside him, confused and heartbroken. Strangers broke in, and in her fear, Chula did what any loyal dog would—tried to protect the only home she'd ever known. What followed was terrifying: a catchpole, a loud kennel, and separation from her brother, Booger. Chula's world fell apart. But her journey didn’t end there. When our team finally brought Chula and Booger to the rescue, they were deeply traumatized. For months, Chula only trusted one person—Pat—who she knew from her previous life. Slowly, she began to open up, and her healing truly began when she was introduced to Chance, another long-time resident who had also faced a tough life. Together, they brought each other back to life. Now, Chula runs and plays, walks on leash, and enjoys meeting new people—on her own terms. Her friendship with Chance has given her a second chance. Why Chula Will Steal Your Heart: Beautiful Shar Pei/Lab mix with soulful eyes House-trained and tidy—never soils her kennel Loves toys, playtime, and curling up to watch TV Gets along with other respectful dogs, especially larger ones Would thrive in a calm home with a fenced yard Needs an experienced, patient adopter who will let her bloom Takes thyroid pills twice daily (easy to manage) Chula is looking for a quiet, loving home—ideally with Chance, but she would also thrive with another friendly companion dog. She's not suited for homes with small children, cats, or tiny dogs due to her past and her cautious nature. &#226&#156&#168 Chula has spent enough time waiting. Now she’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion again—could it be you? Transport Available to WA, OR, Midwest, and East Coast (excluding RI & MA) Transport Fee: $225 (if applicable) &#226&#158&#161&#239&#184&#143 Apply now at www.adoggie4you.org and let Chula know what it feels like to be truly home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 5, 2025, 11:44 am

Story
Miss Bea’s journey really started when she was rescued along with 30 other dogs on the property due to an extreme hoarding situation. She was one of two mamas that just had her babies and she was so glad to be reunited with them at the rescue! She raised 8 of those babies and her sister raised the other 9 pups! They survived a horrible situation and both Miss Bea and her sister, Betsy (also available for adoption), were just wonderful mamas. Now it is THEIR TURN to find homes!!! Miss Bea's foster moms adore her and here is what they have to say, " We knew the task to foster Miss Bea was going to be a slow process. We had been briefed about her being feral and was familiar after fostering her son, sweet Hondo, what it would take. With some love, patience, and a bit of know how , she has turned into my little “happy to see me” shadow (see her videos!!). She has a big bark for a little girl but it is only when appropriate. Loves yummy treats and affection from the people she knows and trust so much so she will paw at you to keep going. She isn’t the biggest fan of going for walks because outside can be scary sometimes but does have some leash confidence. She has no issues with being in the presence of kids. She is great with our other dog and is potty and kennel trained. We couldn’t pick her up for months but now she just plops on me like we have known each other our whole lives. Miss Bea needs a special home that will give her the time and gentleness to allow her to open up." Bea has been given a NEW LIFE and she is ready to SHARE THAT LIFE and HOPE WITH YOU!!! PLEASE ADOPT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Who's better than the rest-y? That's right, it's me, Betsy! I am a cool Chinese Shar-Pei mixed female with a Tuxedo colored coat and white socks! My facial features even have a cool black and white coloring to them too! I was rescued from a bad hoarding situation alongside my siblings, thing's weren't looking good for us. But our big-hearted rescuers saved us and got us on the road to better care and living great lives! Betsy likes to chew on big bones, occasionally wiggle her ears around, and bark at squirrels. Now we're on our way to finding our forever homes. Learning how to socialize with other dogs, take walks, and play fetch with a ball. Stay tuned for more updates on my journey! This is Betsy signing off! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
