Story
Hi, I’m Jet – a sleek, sweet Shar Pei mix with a heart as soft as my velvety black coat. I may look mysterious, but spoiler alert: I’m a total lovebug. I’m all about good vibes, wagging tails, and making friends – especially the four-legged kind (yep, I love other dogs!). At 2 years old, I’ve got just the right mix of playful energy and chill snuggle skills. Fully vetted and fully fabulous, I’m ready to jet into my forever home. Foster, adopt, or share – let’s make some magic happen! 🐾🖤

Story
Meet Butter Bean – Your Golden Ray of Sunshine! 🌞🐾 Butter Bean is a soft, buttery-yellow Shar Pei mix with a heart as big as his puppy eyes. Expected to grow into a medium-sized snuggle buddy, this little guy is packed with love, smarts, and surprising emotional intuition for someone so young. When Butter Bean first arrived at his foster home, he was shy and unsure. But once he realized his foster mom was more cuddle than scary, he blossomed into a playful, affectionate pup who absolutely shines around other dogs, kids, and even cats. He especially loves romping around with his foster siblings and is incredibly gentle with his vision-impaired foster brother—respectful, patient, and kind beyond his months. He’s crate-trained at night, potty-trained, and working on his leash manners like a pro. Butter B is a water baby at heart and adores splashing around in his very own kiddie pool. He’s not picky about meals and is very food-motivated—making training a breeze. Sit? Stay? Love you forever? He’s already got it all down. This sweet boy is the full package: smart, sociable, compassionate, and ready to fill a lucky family’s life with joy, laughter, and endless puppy kisses. Butter Bean’s foster mom says he's "the ideal dog"—but you’ll have to be pretty persuasive to convince her to let go of this heart-stealer. 💛 If you're ready for unconditional love with a side of silly splashes and soulful eyes, Butter Bean is waiting to meet you. The adoption fee for Butter Bean is $450. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Butter Bean please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.

Story
*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** The animal’s behavior around other pets; Mia loves to play with other dogs and is generally submissive toward them. She will thrive in a house with other dogs. She has only been around cats sparingly (in my experience) and seems to be curious but fine. The animal’s behavior around children; Mia is very anxious around children. Since I adopted her (around age 3) she has shown a general anxiety and fear around kids that we have not been able to calm. This is the reason we are looking to rehome her - we`ve had a daughter that Mia can`t get comfortable around, particularly as the daughter starts walking.Any past or existing health issues that the animal has had; general allergies, otherwise very healthyAny medication the animal may currently be taking; noneAny dietary restrictions that the animal may have; nonThe animal’s training history (especially whether or not the animal is housebroken); Housebroken, crate trained, very good walker, very food motivated. For adoption information, please email ben@hftd.org

Story
Miss Honey is at our Bucktown Adoption Center (2144 N. Wood St.) You can visit our Adoption Center at any time during open hours, no appointment needed. Miss Honey is: Spayed: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Miss Honey: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: She has done well with free roam when home alone for up to 5 hours, as well as overnight Leash walking: She has shown some reactivity toward other dogs she sees on walks, and would benefit from continuing to work on this Dog social: Miss Honey has participated in dog playgroups at our Adoption Center but does not like to share her belongings so needs to be the only dog in the home. Cat social: She has done well with a dog-savvy cat after a slow intro Kid-friendly: Yes but a better match for older kids as she can be jumpy when excited. Miss Honey likes: - Watching TV with you - Enjoying the sunshine - Cuddling up in some cozy blankets with her stuffed dino - Laying her head in your lap Miss Honey is the absolute best girl! She loves hard, and she will follow you all over the house, just wanting to be close to her people at all times. She plays hard, too! She loves to run around the yard and play tug with her people... but only for like 20 minutes and then it's time for a nap. She snuggles hard, and loves to park herself on the couch and get as much of her body on your body as she can. She's friendly with every person she meets and within moments of greeting you she'll show you her belly for rubs and will give you the sweetest, most gentle kisses if you'll let her. She would appreciate an adopter who can help her channel her energy in positive ways when she becomes overstimulated, to avoid mouthing and jumping behaviors. Miss Honey has been taking behavior support medication to aid in her training goals. Miss Honey's adoption fee is $300, and she is excited to find the perfect person to cuddle with on the sofa! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
