Story
🐾 Meet Diana! 🖤
Diana is a beautiful, almost 2-year-old black Lab/Chow/Shar-Pei mix with a playful personality, a love for adventure, and a whole lot of loyalty to give!
Diana is a special girl who is looking for a family willing to give her the time, patience, and understanding she needs to feel safe and comfortable.
Transitions can be difficult for Diana, and new environments and unfamiliar people can be overwhelming at first. But here’s the wonderful thing about her: once she gets to know you and realizes she’s safe, typically within about a week, she forms an incredible bond. Once you’re her person, you’re HER person, and she will love you fiercely and be an incredibly loyal companion. ❤️
Diana absolutely loves hiking, going for walks, playing fetch, and spending time outdoors. She’s an active girl who would love a family that enjoys adventures as much as she does!
🐶 Diana’s ideal forever home:
🐾 A friendly, playful canine companion is required. Diana thrives with other dogs and needs a doggy best friend who enjoys playing and can help her feel comfortable.
🌳 A physically fenced-in yard is a must. Because transitions are challenging for Diana, she can be a flight risk when adjusting to a new environment. A secure yard will help keep her safe while she settles in and builds trust.
❤️ A patient, understanding family. Diana needs people who won’t rush her and will allow her to adjust at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her loving and loyal personality really shines!
👧 Older children would be best. Diana can be jumpy when excited, so older, dog-savvy kids would be the best fit.
Diana is already potty trained, knows sit and down, and is continuing to work on her obedience skills. She’s a smart girl who does well with consistency, positive reinforcement, and routine.
One thing we want families to understand is that Diana’s behavior in a familiar environment can be very different from how she responds somewhere new. At her foster home, where she feels comfortable and secure, she does wonderfully off leash and has a reliable recall. However, in unfamiliar places or during transitions, she must remain securely leashed. Her safety is our priority, and trust takes time to build.
Diana isn’t a dog who will necessarily walk into a new home and immediately act like she’s been there forever. She needs a little time to understand that she’s safe, that her people aren’t going anywhere, and that she’s finally home.
But give her that chance, and you’ll discover a playful, adventurous, affectionate, and incredibly loyal best friend.
🖤 Diana doesn’t need a perfect family. She needs a patient, committed one who understands that some of the strongest bonds take a little time to build.
She’s ready for her forever home, and we can’t wait to see her find the people who will love her as much as she’ll love them! 🐾
