Story
Yzma Yzma is a female Husky/Shep/Shar Pei/Retriever mix. DOB: April of 2022 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am a little shy at first when meeting new people. I warm up quickly and have a playful side also. I would do best with children 12+, pending observed interaction. I may be best as the only dog in my new home. I will be afraid of cats, caution is advised. I may be best without cats. I would do my best with a person, couple, or family with previous dog experience. I will require a physically fenced yard. I am not fit for an apartment. I am food motivated and willing to please. I will need confidence building and that will happen with obedience training. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! HSSCM.org you can find the applications under the "adoptions" tab.

Story
Ursla Ursla is a female Husky/Shep/Shar Pei/Retriever mix. (breed) DOB: April of 2022 Adoption fee: $100.00 I can be a very sweet girl when I want to be. I have a very thick coat, which is just gorgeous. I have grown a bit since arriving and will be a good size dog when fully grown. I will require a physically fenced yard. I will be protective of my area and have not been exposed to much even prior to entering the shelter. I have a lot of potential but will need an experienced owner. I am not fit for an apartment. I would be best as the only dog in my new home. I am recommended with older children, 12+ pending observed interaction. I should adjust well to being in a home with a consistent daily schedule. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! HSSCM.org you can find the applications under the "adoptions" tab.

Story
Sissy has returned to us after one of her adopters passed unexpectedly. She's wonderfully well-behaved on leash and has a settled personality once she is comfortable in her space. She does not get along with other dogs. She loves fetch just as much as she loves settling in for a cozy snuggle. She would love to find a home with an active couple who have lots of time at home with her!

Story
Bella is such an amazing 65 pound, 12 year old girl, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about her! She comes house-trained with knowledge of basic commands, and has been very gentle with all pets she’s come across. During the daytime, Bella likes to play tug-o-war and fetch with whoever will humor her, and is a big fan of short walks around the neighborhood. On these walks Bella is exceptional on a leash, but you can expect a few sniff breaks along the way. At night Bella can be found burrowed under a blanket and is content to just hang out and relax with her family on the couch. She’s the sweetest, most mellow dogs around, and is so easy to love. As a senior dog coming from a previously neglectful home, she really deserves endless pets, comfort, and a loving family she can spend her Golden Years with. Her adoption fee is $175. ##1846483##

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.
