Meet Dixie! This beautiful lady has become a bit of a local celebrity; known for her frequent shelter visits and sightings on social media. Unfortunately Dixie's previous family struggled to keep her contained, and on Dixie's most recent visit to the shelter they chose not to reclaim her. While Dixie has been a bit of an escape artist in the past, we believe with a secure fence and supervision she is not going to be quite the Houdini. Dixie is ready to put her life of puppies, running, and shelter stays behind her. She is well loved by staff and known for her wonderful personality; everyone that meets Dixie remarks on just how sweet and loving she is! Dixie enjoys being with people and would love an affectionate, semi-active family. She loves children and has been the perfect mix of gentle and playful. She does well with other dogs and previously lived with another dog. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Dixie home.
