Story
Lola's story is one of courage, healing, and love. She was found in Mexico on September 17 after she approached people asking for help. She was emaciated, anemic, heartworm positive, and carrying a litter of deceased puppies. With compassion, medical care, and time in foster care, she made an incredible recovery. Now thriving, Lola is a beautiful medium-sized mixed breed weighing about 23 kilograms. She is affectionate, intelligent, and playful. She loves toys, car rides, and zoomies in the yard. Food motivated and quick to learn, she is improving daily on leash and with potty training. Lola has moderate to high energy and would thrive with an active family or someone who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventure. She does well with some dogs but is not compatible with cats or small animals. After everything she has overcome, her joy for life is contagious.

I`ve been on dog day outs! Here`s what volunteers have said:`November was seriously perfect! It was my first time doing Dog Day Out and he exceeded every expectation. He loves cuddles and mirrors and his reflection, and is very treat motivated. He is very gentle and easy-going, and did so well in my apartment. He would be an amazing house dog! He also did very well in the car, as he liked to look out the window, he remained still and calm even when we first picked him up. He didn’t have any bathroom issues, and he knows the command `sit`. We walked him around campus and he encountered hundreds of people, he LOVES people and never got overwhelmed. He even met little kids, and he behaved extremely well! He’s so peaceful, the ONLY time he even barked was at the 12th Man statue. He even met Reveille (from a very safe distance lol) while on campus! Birds and squirrels don’t phase him either. He loved meeting people on the walk, but he did get tired easily and wanted to rest, haha, he’s definitely more of a chiller and does not need as much excitement/entertainment as other dogs require. He played with toys a bit but preferred just to cuddle. He met many of my friends and he treated everyone of them as if he had known them forever!! I seriously would take him if I could, he will be the perfect dog for someone!!`-- `November is the sweetest dog alive! He is so well behaved and calm, a little shy but warms up super quickly and loves cuddles and naps. Great on a leash and comes when you call him! A joy of a dog!!`--`He is a sweet little cuddle bug who loves to be near you as much as possible, he also just loves people and getting scratches. He seems to be fully house and leash trained and doesn’t mind being crated when you have to go out. He loves blankets and playing with his ball but isn’t all that interested in stuffed toys, he is quite good at bringing the ball back with playing fetch too. Overall he is the sweetest most relaxed boy who would be a pleasure in any home!`
