Story
Motherly Millie has spent most of her life being someone's 'Mother' over and over again for no reason except to make money for an insensitive owner. Now, just four months after her last of many litter, she is finally getting the chance to discover what it feels like to simply be someone's beloved dog. Millie is a beautiful, white, 58 pound Standard Poodle who was purchased as a puppy to be a breeding mother. For the past five years, she lived outdoors with her canine companions and raised litter after litter of puppies producing income for the owner. No love shown to Millie...just expectations to 'produce and perform' her duty as a mother dog. Her last babies were born just four months ago, so Millie is still very much a girl who has spent her life giving everything she had to caring for others.  Now, her life is changing.  When Millie was surrendered, Critter Cavalry was proud to step in and promised to help her find the kind of home she has never known — a real home where she can come inside, be part of a family, be loved for who she is, and finally have someone take care of her. This sweet girl has so much to offer in return for being a part of. Millie is incredibly affectionate and loves people and children. She has gotten along well with her canine companions and has a gentle, friendly nature that makes it easy to see how much she wants to connect with people. She is the kind of dog who is discovering that attention, affection and companionship can be pretty wonderful things. Millie has never had the opportunity to learn all the things an indoor dog knows, so her new family will need to give her some patience as she learns about house manners and a new routine. The good news is that she has already shown us something encouraging — while boarding, Millie has kept her kennel clean. With consistency, patience and a predictable routine, we expect her natural Poodle intelligence to help her catch on quickly. There is something especially touching about watching a dog like Millie experience ordinary things for the first time — a cozy bed, being invited onto the couch, following her person from room to room, learning that she doesn't have to spend her days outside, and realizing that this time, she isn't here to raise puppies. She gets to be the baby now. > Millie has given five years of her life to others. Critter Cavalry would love nothing more than to help her find the family who will make the rest of her life about being cherished, included and loved simply for being Millie. Please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  She is ready to go to a new home NOW.... ccrnewengland@gmail.com  She is in Nashville, TN and we have a certified dog and cat transport van that travels northward every weekend. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 9, 2026, 10:51 am

Story
Ruger — A Sweet Boy Discovering How Wonderful Home Can Be   Ruger is a 40 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix whose life didn’t get the easiest start. He was abandoned along with his brothers and their dad when a tenant left them behind at a cabin in the woods. Like his brothers, Ruger spent his early life outside with very little experience of the world beyond what he knew.   Because of that, adopters should expect Ruger to be a little shy and sensitive at first. Moving into a new home, meeting new people and learning a whole new routine is a big change for a boy who hasn’t always had the chance to experience the world in a safe and secure way. He may need a little time to settle in and figure out that this new life really is his.   But once Ruger gets comfortable, you get to see what a truly sweet boy he is. ❤️ He has been living in a house now and is doing wonderfully. He has discovered some of the very best things about being an indoor dog—especially finding a soft place to curl up and getting comfy on the bed!   Ruger is a loving, happy and smart little guy who is eager to learn and be part of his family. He may be sensitive, but underneath that initial shyness is a sweet boy who wants to trust, wants to please and wants to be loved.   He doesn't need someone to expect him to walk into a new home and immediately act like he has lived there forever. He just needs someone who will give him a little patience while he adjusts, reassure him that he is safe, and let his personality come out at his own pace.   Once Ruger settles in, expect a happy, affectionate, smart little companion who is ready to enjoy all the things he should have had from the beginning—soft beds, loving people, a safe home and a family of his own.   Ruger has already come so far. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the time and love to take that final step into his forever home. ❤️ Few are interested in making Rugers dream family become  your family , please email Critter Cavalry Rescue atccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 9, 2026, 10:51 am

Story
Meet Ginny Lynn — a sweet little girl who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. ❤️   Ginny Lynn is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with her 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and her grey Poodle dad,  behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these pups.   So, it’s no surprise that Ginny can be a little sensitive when everything around her is new. She may not be the one who marches through the door on day one like she owns the place. She’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of girl.   And honestly, once she decides everything really is okay, she is pretty amazing and  sweet.   She has been living in a house now and is doing well. She is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. She’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens.   Ginny Lynn is smart, loving and eager to learn. She just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Give her a little patience, a predictable routine and some kindness, and you’ll get to watch this sweet girl come out of her shell.   Once she settles in, expect a happy little companion who wants to be part of things. She has a gentle nature and a sweetness about her that makes you want to reassure her that she has finally landed somewhere good.   And maybe that's what Ginny needs most—not anything fancy, not a perfect home, just a person who will let her take a breath, get comfortable and realize that this time, she's not being left behind.   This girl deserves to know what it feels like to be somebody's dog. To have a favorite bed. A favorite person. A routine. A home. And most importantly, to know that when her person walks out the door, they're coming back.   We think Ginny is going to be awfully easy to love. ❤️. If you are interested in giving this girl The Good Life....
