Story
Toby is 6 years old. We acquired him from a breeder in Maryland that specializes in doodle dogs. He is an f1b sheepadoodle, 92 lbs at last weigh in and is black and white all over. He could be described as goofy and loves attention. Have never had any problems with kids but other dogs do not like him for some reason. My wife would say it's because he's a stud! My wife and I have very busy work schedules and we feel Toby deserves so much more than what we have been able to provide him. Hoping to find an owner that can devote a lot more time with him and give Toby what he needs which is a true companion.

These pups are in Rochester, New York too!

Story
🐾 MAYPOLE, MAYFLOWER, and MAYDAY are 3 Standard Poodle puppies who just turned 4 months old the day of this listing, and were just surrendered semi-recently. When they came in, we got them bathed and an initial grooming, since they were all very matted, and we got them seen at the vet for exams, as well as their first puppy shots and preventatives. We've got them with temporary fosters right now, and they are a bit skittish and will take some time to become comfortable around new people. Of course, things have changed a lot in the last week or so. Their littermate Mayple was surrendered a few weeks before them and is acclimating well in her new forever home. We will update these listings with more pics and info as their fosters get them to us. We anticipate these puppies will come around pretty quickly like their sister did. MayPole is the black female, MayFlower is the cream female, and MayDay is the cream male. They're all in the 15-18 lb range but came to us a bit underweight, which we're working on. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please apply here: www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply and be sure to select their name from the dropdown to expedite your application!! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

From his foster, "May Day? Yep, that's my name, and I'm sticking with it. I'm a four-month-old poodle boy. Ever so soft and cute. I like to lope and snuggle and play and sleep. After only one night, I was pretty accurate with my poos on the poo pads. If you take me outside often I'll bet I can figure out the whole pee thing rather quickly. (I'm a poodle, don't forget.) I didn't have the most pleasant of beginnings, but I'm definitely taking to this new life. My foster house is really nice, and I like the two canine residents, but sense it's only temporary. I'm soooo much more than my photos." 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). Story
🐾 GRECIA is a beautiful young (2 years) Standard Poodle who's about 45 lbs and we've got fully vetted except for her spay and microchip which she's on the schedule for and is included in her adoption fee even if she's adopted before that date. She was locally surrendered because her owner could no longer care for her and keep up on her grooming and vet needs, as they also had a litter. She's just arrived at her foster's in the last few days and is understandably nervous and doesn't understand why everything has changed for her, but despite that, she's approaching her foster right away for pets and snuggles, and has been good with other dogs in the home and her previous owner said she was also good with cats. We'll report more as her foster gets to know her and her personality comes out.
