She’s especially smitten with her foster’s 2-year-old granddaughter and does wonderfully with her — soft, patient, and affectionate. ❤️ Lola is both potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right home! Honey is a sweet 5-year old Goldendoodle and former puppy mill mama who is now learning how wonderful life can be as a family dog who is loved. She is doing great with her potty training and is still learning how to signal when she needs to go outside. A consistent routine will be key for her success! Honey also walks nicely on her leash, and does great on car rides. Honey has absolutely blossomed into an affectionate girl who loves attention and is not remotely shy about asking for it. She has found a gentle paw tap to ask for some more pets is an effective and sweet way to get them. She also does enjoy toys, but prefers it as more of an independent activity. She is dog-friendly and does best with calm adult dogs since puppy energy can overwhelm her. Honey would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She seems to be a little nervous going through doorways, so there are things that she will need patience and reassurance to learn. She is ready for a home who can help continue to build her confidence, let her know she is safe and shower her with love. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. Hi my name is Gidget and I’m a 4 month old, 6lb sweet little princess. I absolutely LOVE sitting on the couch to cuddle with my foster mom and demand that we do it as much as possible! That is, when I’m not playing with my foster dog sisters , or chasing after my foster cat sisters… I just don’t know why they don’t want to play with me, so I think I would do best in a house without cats. They just don’t understand my energy! Anyways, I’m doing great with my potty training. I sleep in my crate at night as well as when my parents are away from home, and I can’t say I totally love it… but we’re working on it. I just want to be around my people as much as possible!! Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
