Story
Update 3/28/2026 Bucky is settling in nicely at his foster home! It didn’t take him long to learn the routine of the house, and now that his shyness is fading, his playful puppy personality is shining through. He’s a smart boy who truly wants to please his humans.
When Bucky first arrived, he was scared to be left alone, even if his foster family was just in another room. Over the past three weeks, he has gained so much confidence. Now his foster family can leave the room and he’s perfectly content. Another huge win for Bucky has been learning to love the dogs in the home. He was nervous at first, but it didn’t take long for him to realize they’re friendly and fun. He now follows one of the dogs around like a little shadow.
Bucky sleeps through the night and is potty trained.
He is still working on his fear of riding in the car, but his foster family has been taking him on short trips to help build confidence. His foster mom recently took him for a pup cup, and he definitely enjoyed that part!
Bucky would thrive in a home with another playful dog and someone home most of the day. Due to his breed mix and energy level, apartment living would not be the best fit for this active puppy. He would love a fenced yard to run and play in and would do well with older children.
Bucky is an 8 1/2 month old German Shepherd/Poodle/Golden Retriever mix.

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
