Duke is a 5 year old, sheltie mix who was surrendered to our shelter when his owners were moving and couldn't take him with them but don't let his age or blindness fool you, he is a spry, happy go lucky guy who can sure make you fall in love with him! Duke is mostly an easy going fellow and is content to enjoy the simple pleasures: his meals, leisurely strolls through the yard, enjoying a cookie and most importantly, being near his people as much as possible. The world can be a scary place when you can't see, but most of the time he takes it in stride. He moves slowly to find his way and needs to build trust so he can feel safe. He is a low maintenance boy, and would thrive most in a laid back environment with someone patient, who doesn't mind talking a lot (your voice will help guide him) and who can give him helpful hints to help him on his way (like "bump" warnings, etc).Duke truly is a joy and just wants to be where you are. He is open to meeting other calmer dogs (a meet and greet would be required at our shelter for any potential canine siblings). Duke is neutered, microchipped & up to date on all vaccinations. If you have the time and patience to help this little man navigate the world, you will soon realize that you are very blessed to have this bundle of love by your side! Interested in adopting Duke?
