Story
Zoey is a young Sheltie who’s had a tough year. She’s been with three different families in under 12 months, including mine. Every one of us cared about her and wanted to make it work, but she has some deep behavioral challenges that we weren’t fully prepared for. Things like fear of certain noises, unpredictable anxiety, and difficulty adapting to normal daily routines. It’s not just that she’s “a lot”she’s struggling in ways that need more than love and patience. She’s not aggressive, just overwhelmed. And in the rare moments when she feels safe, she’s gentle and affectionate and shows how much she wants to connect. But she needs the right environment, quiet, stable, low stress, ideally with someone who understands or has worked with reactive or fearful dogs before. Rehoming her isn’t something I take lightly. I know she’s been through a lot already, and I hate adding to that. But what she truly needs is a home that can meet her where she is and give her a real chance to heal.
