Story
I am a people-oriented, peppy guy who has previously lived in a home with other large dogs. Here in shelter playgroups, I spend more time hanging with my people friends and attending to the interesting goings on through the fence than I do playing, but I`m happy to coexist. Ask to see me today!

Story
🐾 Meet Patrick — Loyal, Playful, and Ready for His Forever Home 🐾 Name: Patrick ID: A568250 Breed: Bully mix Color: Blue and white Age: 2 years Weight: 44 lbs Neutered, Vaccinated, and Microchipped Heartworm Negative Rescued from Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) Patrick’s story is one of survival and second chances. He arrived at Orange County Animal Services as a stray on April 6, 2025, and spent two long months in the shelter. During that time, he physically and emotionally declined — losing weight and becoming increasingly shut down. He was placed on the euthanasia list… but thanks to a loving foster, Patrick got his second chance. 💙 About Patrick: Patrick is a fun-loving, food-motivated sweetheart who absolutely adores his toys and bones. Tug-o-war? Yes please. Snuggling by your feet? Absolutely. Even when he’s chewing on something special, he allows his foster mom to take it from him without a fuss — a true sign of trust. He’s incredibly smart and quickly learned the routine of crate time (especially when food’s involved!). Whether it’s celery, cantaloupe rinds, or watermelon vines — if it’s edible, Patrick’s interested. He’s a shadow-type companion who just wants to be near his person. Quiet time at your feet is his love language. 🏡 Patrick’s Perfect Home: Patrick has come a long way from his shelter days, but he still needs a home that understands his needs and provides structure. He’ll thrive as an only pet or possibly with very slow introductions to other calm dogs. Patrick has shown reactivity toward other dogs in stressful environments, and he is not safe with cats. He may also be wary of men, as he has shown signs of discomfort with unfamiliar males — though he’s affectionate and trusting with people he knows and loves. ⚠️ Not for Every Home: * No cats * Likely best as the only pet * May need a home without young children * Preferably with an experienced or patient owner 🧸 Patrick’s Personality in a Nutshell: * Toy and bone enthusiast * Loves food (even the weird stuff!) * Crate trained and easily redirected * Loyal, affectionate, and wants to be your shadow * Smart, sensitive, and eager to please * Needs structure, predictability, and a cat-free home Patrick is a dog with heart — one who’s overcome so much and is now just looking for someone to see the good in him. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal companion who just wants to be loved, Patrick is waiting for you. Apply now and help write the next chapter in Patrick’s story.
