Story
I am a long-term dog resident here at the Champaign County Humane Society! What does that mean? It means I have been available for adoption for over 90 days and am more than ready to find my forever home! In fact, the shelter is waiving my adoption fee for any approved applicant. Please stop by the shelter during open hours to visit with me! Meet Cody, the 2-year-old, neutered male Pitbull Terrier mix who is looking for a forever home at CCHS! This pooch is like a live wire, bursting with energy and ready for action! He's a big fan of playing with toys and making new human friends (especially the ones who carry treats). Cody likes to keep his prized possessions safe and sound, so he prefers to be the only dog in the house. But don't worry, he's got enough love to go around! Cody would thrive in an active household with plenty of outdoor time and room to play. Whether you need a jogging buddy or a BFF always wagging his tail, Cody is the pup for you! Come meet him at CCHS and let the fun begin! Cody is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what adoption staff member, Meredith has to say about him: Cody is our shelter's longest resident, having arrived in July 2023. Cody is the kind of fearless, happy dog that doesn't seem to mind being in a shelter. He is excited every day when his friends come to greet him. Cody doesn't know how to feel anything but joyful! He loves to play and enjoys games by himself and with friends. As long as he has food to eat, toys to play with, and people to take him for walks, give him treats, and tell him what a handsome lad he is, Cody feels like a king. Imagine how happy he would be if he had a home of his own! If Cody had people and a place all his own, he'd be over the moon! Come meet our happy boy, who will be especially happy to see you!

It means I have been available for adoption for over 90 days and am more than ready to find my forever home! In fact, the shelter is waiving my adoption fee for any approved applicant. Please stop by the shelter during open hours to visit with me! Introducing the stunning Raven, a little lady who had a bumpy start in life but now she's looking for a new home sweet home! Her first year was spent locked up in a kennel, but luckily, she found a home that promised her a better life. With her high energy levels, Raven's a real firecracker, but her previous owner wasn't quite ready for her rambunctious antics. Raven needs a patient family that can teach her some manners and help her burn off all that energy! She's not too keen on other pups, so she's looking for a home where she can be the star of the show. This girl loves to soak up all your love and cuddles. So, if you're looking for a furry friend to light up your life, please swing by the shelter to meet Raven! Raven is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what animal care staff member, Roe, has to say about her: Raven is one of my best buds! This is her second time with us through no fault of her own, and she made the move to the new building with us last year so we've all gotten the opportunity to get to know her very well. She's enthusiastic about doing anything for treats, and very smart about getting them. She loves neck rubs and will happily sit next to you and people watch while you pet her. Raven is very playful and silly, loves to play fetch outside and wiggle around in the grass on her back. Snow is also one of her favorite things-we have a hard time convincing her to come back inside, she'd rather just jump around and eat the snow! She'd love to be your only pet and get ALL your love, so if you have room in your life for a little princess, come and meet Raven!!

Story
Meet Fennel, the spirited 4-year-old Pitbull mix ready to spice up your life at CCHS! This lively pup is a bundle of joy, always wearing a grin as wide as the Grand Canyon. Fennel is all about playtime, especially when tennis balls are involved. She's a fetch pro and can keep the game going for ages. While Fennel adores older kids and grown-ups, tiny tots make her uneasy, so we're recommending she go to a home with no children under 5-years of age. We also believe she will do best in a home where she is the only pet. But fear not, Fennel will shower you with love and keep you entertained non-stop! Need a sidekick for your adventures? Searching for a forever bestie to keep you on your toes? Look no further, Fennel is your gal! Fennel is a STAFF FAVORITE ! Here's what volunteer coordinator, Sarah, has to say about her: Fennel has a smile that could light up the bleakest and darkest of rooms - a true ray of sunshine. Having a rough day? Fennel has you covered. All she asks for in return is some treats and maybe a quick game of fetch. Although the kennels make her a bit anxious, she perseveres and brightens up the day for all staff and volunteers who have the privilege of working with her. Once she finds her perfect person, she will surely light up their life, just as she lights up ours!
