Story
⚡️ Meet our newest adoptable dog-Baja Blast ⚡️If a dog could be powered by neon gas station energy drinks and happy thoughts, it would be Baja Blast. This blue and white pittie mix seems to operate at a permanent “fully caffeinated and ready for action” setting. He arrives with enthusiasm, leaves with enthusiasm, and somehow turns simply walking across a room into a whole event. 🌊At around 10 months to a year old, Baja is still a young guy with plenty of zoom left in the tank, but beneath all that turbo mode energy is a total sweetheart. This boy is an absolute love bug who thinks affection is serious business and believes every person he meets could potentially become his new best friend.Baja was originally found as a stray and was never reclaimed, so we don’t have any information about his past. If your house feels a little too quiet and your life could use extra wiggles, extra laughs, and approximately 137% more excitement… Baja Blast is ready to crack open a whole new adventure with you.

Story
Frostine & GlacierFrostine and Glacier are 11-month-old white German Shepherd siblings who recently came into our care under heartbreaking circumstances. They are related to Everest and Crystal—two of our other white Shepherds who are currently thriving in foster homes and beginning their journey toward normal, healthy lives. When Frostine (female) and Glacier (male) arrived, it was clear they had experienced significant neglect. They were underweight, frightened, and unfamiliar with even the most basic parts of daily life. Despite everything they’ve endured, their spirits remain gentle. Not once have they shown aggression—only uncertainty and quiet curiosity as they begin to learn that the world can be safe. These two are experiencing many “firsts” right now. Their first walks outside. Their first moments of fresh air. Their first experiences with kind, patient human touch. While they are understandably timid, they are already showing signs of trust—accepting soft pets and taking treats with remarkable gentleness.Frostine and Glacier are not a bonded pair and will need to be placed separately. This is important for their development, as littermates raised together without proper socialization can struggle to build confidence independently. They will need homes that understand their starting point. Patience will be key. So will consistency, structure, and compassion. With the right environment, time, and guidance, we believe both Frostine and Glacier will grow into the loyal, loving companions they were always meant to be.We are currently seeking experienced adopters, foster homes, or rescue partners who can help continue their journey. These dogs have already come so far—and with the right people behind them, their future can look very different from their past.To apply, visit EffinghamCountyHumaneSociety.org
