Story
Nova is truly a sweet, loving dog who bonds deeply with her person and thrives on attention and routine. That said, she does have some special needs and must go to the right environment to be successful. My family and I adopted her from a local shelter in hopes we could give her the best home. However, that all changed. She has allergies and a torn ACL, both of which require daily medication and consistent care. She does well with this routine and deserves someone who can continue it without hesitation. Behavior-wise, she is very nervous with new people, especially men, and has had a few incidents of biting when unfamiliar people walk into the home. Because of this, she needs an experienced, patient owner who understands fearful dogs and can properly manage introductions and boundaries. She is good with kids however not young kids. She would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and loving — she just needs time, structure,

The shelter is taking care of the treatments and is happy to discuss what that entails for potential adopters. Red is a super sweet girl who came to the shelter extremely underweight with nine newborn puppies. Her foster family reported that she thinks she is a lap dog and loves meeting new people including school age children. She is extremely well house-trained and knows basic commands like sit, shake, and stay. She is still working on greeting people politely (eg not barking and jumping) and is fearful of the vacuum cleaner, people holding sticks, and loud noises.******Red is in a foster home, please call 812-349-3492 for more information******
