Story
At almost 2 years old, Cody has spent his entire life in rescue waiting for the right person to see him for who he really is: a deeply loyal, goofy, affectionate dog with so much love to give. Missing his back leg has never slowed him down for a second. Cody is fully mobile, full of life, and happiest when he’s running after a ball, exploring on walks, or climbing directly into your lap for cuddles. His zoomies are elite, his kisses are endless, and if you sit down near him, there’s a very good chance he’ll decide your lap belongs to him now. Cody is incredibly smart and eager to connect with his people. He already knows sit, down, stay, heel, center, and wait/take it, and he thrives when he has structure, guidance, and someone cheering him on. Cody isn’t the kind of dog who shines in loud adoption events or chaotic environments. Busy spaces are overwhelming for him, and because of that, he’s often overlooked. But once he feels safe and connected, his personality truly comes to life. He’s looking for a calm, lower-traffic home where he can be the center of someone’s world. Cody would do best as the only pet in the home and would thrive with someone who appreciates a loyal companion and understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time and trust to build. Cody may not be the right fit for every home — but for the right person, he’s the kind of dog who will love you with his whole heart.
