Story
At almost 2 years old, Cody has spent his entire life in rescue waiting for the right person to see him for who he really is: a deeply loyal, goofy, affectionate dog with so much love to give. Missing his back leg has never slowed him down for a second. Cody is fully mobile, full of life, and happiest when he’s running after a ball, exploring on walks, or climbing directly into your lap for cuddles. His zoomies are elite, his kisses are endless, and if you sit down near him, there’s a very good chance he’ll decide your lap belongs to him now. Cody is incredibly smart and eager to connect with his people. He already knows sit, down, stay, heel, center, and wait/take it, and he thrives when he has structure, guidance, and someone cheering him on. Cody isn’t the kind of dog who shines in loud adoption events or chaotic environments. Busy spaces are overwhelming for him, and because of that, he’s often overlooked. But once he feels safe and connected, his personality truly comes to life. He’s looking for a calm, lower-traffic home where he can be the center of someone’s world. Cody would do best as the only pet in the home and would thrive with someone who appreciates a loyal companion and understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time and trust to build. Cody may not be the right fit for every home — but for the right person, he’s the kind of dog who will love you with his whole heart. Story
Capone Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic.   Capone is a sweet, spirited pup with lots of personality and so much potential. He’s already showing some really solid habits for a young puppy — he sleeps soundly through the night and does great when going outside. He's been working hard on potty training and almost there.  He also does well in his crate and can settle comfortably when needed. Like many young dogs, he’s still learning his manners. He can be very mouthy during play, so he’ll need an adopter committed to consistent training and positive reinforcement to help him develop appropriate boundaries.  He's learning that hands (and clothing!) aren’t chew toys. With other dogs, Capone is enthusiastic — sometimes very enthusiastic. He tends to get right up in other dogs’ faces, jumping, play-biting, and vocalizing as part of his rough-and-tumble play style.  He’s looking for a home that understands puppy behavior and is ready to help him grow. In return, you’ll get a loyal, fun-loving companion ready to take on any adventure with you. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Lyndee Newberry is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Meet Lyndee! Lyndee is a sweet, happy, adventurous girl who is ready to find a family of her very own! This playful pup loves being with her people and is always up for fun, whether that means exploring the backyard, playing with her dog friends, or joining you on your next adventure. Lyndee is social, affectionate, and full of puppy charm. She gets along great with other dogs and would love a canine companion to romp around with, though she’s just as happy soaking up attention from her favorite humans. Lyndee’s journey hasn’t always been easy. She and her sisters were found in a crowded southern shelter before being rescued by one of our amazing rescue partners. During her veterinary workup, Lyndee was found to have some orthopedic differences in her lower back and right leg that occurred before she entered rescue; she may have been born with these differences or suffered some kind of injury as a very young puppy. Fortunately, her veterinarian does not recommend surgery, and Lyndee continues to thrive like any other happy, playful, active puppy. She may always have a slightly unique gait, but it certainly doesn’t slow her down! Like any young puppy, Lyndee is still learning about the world and will need a family committed to helping her continue her training and grow into the wonderful dog she’s destined to be. In return, she’ll reward you with endless love, laughter, and companionship. Despite her rough start, Lyndee hasn’t lost her joyful spirit. She wakes up each day ready to play, explore, and make new friends. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving pup with a heart of gold, Lyndee may be the perfect addition to your family. **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic.   If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
