To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Very sweet and friendly!  Lola is a 5yo female pit bull terrier mix who was rescued just in time from the Memphis kill shelter. Gentle, sweet, friendly, well-socialized. Good with other dogs and living with 2 other dogs in her foster home. Not cat tested. Great with kids. Medium energy level outside, settles down quickly inside, quiet and well-mannered, low maintenance. Affectionate with her people and loves to cuddle. Crate trained and housebroken. Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  When she first came to us, Lola had heartworms but she was treated and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots. Weighs about 55 pounds. Sweet, loving terrier mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Contact us at reply@happydogrescue.org  visit us at http://www.happydogrescue.orgMarch 16, 2026, 6:15 am

Story
Easy is such a good natured boy. He will eagerly come up to you for pets and doesn't want to stop. He gets so fond of his humans that he walks quite well on a leash as well. Wondering where his name comes from? Having a brown spot right in the middle of his head is so unusual that one of our ACO s called it his easy button. He is used to having visitors press his easy button before he sweeps in with kisses. He's quite smart, as he knows just how to get back to his kennel once we let him free from the other side of the building. The reason we have to confine him to the other side during cleaning is that the kennels over there have ceilings that will keep him from climbing out. He can easily climb a seven foot fence no problem. This is his only drawback but with a few accommodations I'm sure he will make an amazing family pet. __________________________________________________________________ All animal adoptions are $80. Story
Meet Hollywood! She takes her name from that area of town and wears it fabulously. Despite a rough start which likely includes breeding young, she has a very good nature . She loves cuddles and playing around the living room with her tennis ball. She has even figured out how to shimmy and coot under the couch in case the ball rolls under there. She walks well on a leash with eagerness to explore and hops right up in the car when you ask her to. A few notes to consider are that she has a chewing habit and may damage something if not worked with and provided the appropriate tough toys to satisfy her habit. She does not get along with cats. We surmise that perhaps cats were used like toys where she came from. So, I would not adopt her if you have a cat. However, she likes other dogs. The person who took her home yesterday said she did good with her dog. NOTE: She is not spayed yet. She will be spayed on May11, at which time she can be formally adopted. You can feel free to meet her before then in our newly upgraded living room meet and greet area. All animal adoptions are typically $80. For puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months, adoptions are $100. For dogs, this includes the first series of vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and heartworm preventative. For cats, this includes the first series of vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter and feline AIDS/leukemia testing. All cats and kittens adopted from the Germantown Animal Shelter are not allowed to be declawed. Any questions should be directed to animalshelter@germantown-tn.gov. Or by calling the shelter at 901-757-7358.
