Story
🐾 Meet Bear! 🐾
Bear is a 1-year-old neutered male German Shepherd who is looking for a home where he can continue learning, growing, and finally experience the kind of life every young dog deserves. ❤️
Bear came to us neglected and much too thin, with fleas and parasites. Thankfully, he has been vetted, tested negative for 4DX, and is looking SO much better! His physical transformation is already incredible, and now we’re working on helping him grow into the confident, well-mannered young man we know he can be.
Bear is crate trained, house trained, and does well in the car. And if there’s one thing Bear is motivated by, it’s FOOD! 😍 That makes him an incredibly trainable dog, and he is already working hard on some of his more impulsive behaviors.
One thing we are currently working on is tail chasing, which has become a bit of an obsession for him. He would do best in a home that understands young German Shepherds and is willing to provide structure, consistency, training, and plenty of appropriate mental stimulation.
We believe Bear would thrive in a calmer household, preferably with older children or no children, where he can continue developing a calmer mentality without a lot of chaos or excitement.
🐱 Cats: Bear will chase cats when outside, so a cat-free home is recommended.
🐔 Chickens/small animals: Definitely too exciting for this boy, so no chickens or similar small animals.
Bear does not appear to be food protective, and with his food motivation and willingness to learn, we think there is so much potential in this handsome boy. He just needs someone willing to see past the impulsive young Shepherd and help him become the amazing companion hiding underneath it all.
Bear has already come so far. Now he needs someone who will give him the time, patience, structure, and love to keep moving forward. 🖤
