Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.Lou is an 8-month-old female Husky mix who will need to be spayed before adoption. She was brought in by city animal control after being found in a neighborhood. This pretty girl has a medium-length black coat with cream markings and weighs 37 pounds, making her a medium-sized adult dog. Lou should do well in a home with other dogs and children, but absolutely no cats. Huskies are known for their even temperament, love of the outdoors, and knack for escaping, so her new home will need a strong, secure fence. As an active breed, Lou will need regular exercise and would thrive with an active family. She’ll do best with someone who has the time and energy to commit to her needs. With patience and attention, Lou has great potential to become a wonderful companion.  Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****August 1, 2026, 7:31 pm

Found as a stray in a neighborhood, her owner never came forward. She has a medium-length black coat with brown highlights and a large white patch on her chest. Weighing 41 pounds, she’s a medium-sized dog. Playful and energetic, Shepie would love a fenced yard where she can safely run and have fun. She’d be happy in a home with children and other dogs, and her smarts suggest she’d quickly pick up basic commands. Shepie is a wonderful dog who’s sure to be a great addition to any family.
