Story
Meadow spent months wandering the public parks of the Los Angeles Valley, surviving on her own and avoiding human contact. Locals spotted her often—many tried to help, offering food and kindness, but Meadow kept her distance. It wasn’t until she came into our care that we discovered she’d been living with an old injury, likely the reason she was so hesitant to trust. After countless attempts, Canine Rescue Club partnered with a dedicated local trapper and our incredible friend Soyoung from Dog Coalition to safely bring Meadow in. Since then, Soyoung has worked patiently and lovingly to help Meadow begin her healing journey, physically, emotionally, and socially. DOG COALITION LA is a trusted partner in rescue dog rehabilitation and rehoming. Today, Meadow is slowly learning that the world can be safe. She’s shy, gentle, and much smaller than she appears in photos. Though still cautious, there’s a softness in her eyes that says she’s ready to find love—she just needs someone she can finally trust. Meadow thrives around other dogs and finds great comfort in the presence of a pack. Her ideal home would include a canine companion (or a few) to help guide her continued transformation. With time, patience, and a calm environment, Meadow will blossom into the loyal, grateful soul we know she is. What You Should Know About Meadow: Observant, loves dogs more than anything, and clearly wants to love people too, will just take someone with a welcome, calm energy to help bring that out of her. Quiet achiever: She rarely makes a peep, and communicates with body language.

Story
Little Luna is about 5 months old, she is very loving and energetic. She is potty trained with pee mats but every now n then she will pee very near but off the mat. She sleeps throughout the night and doesn't make noise or whine. She also goes out every morning to do her business before being let back in the house. I really dont want to rehome her but I started working full time/overtime and my family can't handle her and the other two pups as well. I want to make sure she goes to a loving home with a family who will care for her. She has all of her shots.

Story
Hi, I’m Yippee. Only a year old, and before being rescued from Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, I never had a real loving family and was found as a stray. Yippee is a 63 pound male Husky/Shepherd mix (Shepsky) currently with his foster in San Diego, California. He is a one of a kind sweet boy who loves playing with other dogs and brings a fun, happy energy wherever he goes. During his time at the shelter, Yippee quickly became the favorite among volunteers because of his affectionate personality, playful spirit, and the way he always sought attention and connection from people. Even in a stressful environment, he remained loving, social, and eager to interact with everyone he met. Like many young dogs, Yippee is still learning basic manners and will benefit from continued training, structure, and consistency. He is smart, eager to learn, and very treat-motivated, which makes him highly trainable and excited to engage with his people. Yippee deserves a forever home where he can continue growing, feel safe and loved, and finally have a place he can truly call his own.

Story
This is Fiona, a gorgeous, loving, intelligent, tripod girl. She deserves the world. At just 17 months old, Fiona has survived more than most dogs should. This beautiful German Shepherd lost her leg from abuse; her humerus was broken vertically in half ! She was found wandering on the streets, as a stray, not using her front left leg, just carrying the leg and attempting to get around. Downey Animal Control used a catch pole and brought her into the shelter. Instead of being given the care and comfort she needed to heal, she was placed back on cold cement kennel floors to recover alone. Her food was thrown onto the same floor where she went to the bathroom. The decision to amputate through an outside vet came shortly thereafter. And, then a week later, when she still could not walk properly, they spayed her. And then? They decided it was time to euthanize her for space!Since she was a special medical case, we decided that was not going to happen. Olive’s Retreat Dog Sanctuary pulled her. And from the moment we did, Fiona has shown us exactly who she is — a strong, joyful, ridiculously smart girl who refuses to let her past define her.She adapted to life on three legs with a grace and joy that will take your breath away. She runs. She plays ball. She lights up every room she walks into on those three beautiful legs. Fiona is 60 lbs. of pure love and spirit. She’s leash trained, crate trained, and spayed. She adores her people — like, really adores them. Balls and bones are her love language, and she’d happily spend every second by your side if you let her. Here’s what she needs: preferably a home where she’s the only pet. A handler who’s confident and experienced — prior GSD owners or seasoned dog people who understand the breed would be amazing. And someone with the patience and commitment to give this girl the life she fought so hard to live. It will take special people or a person to be with Fiona. She loves car rides. She is a huge cuddler, and yes, she hugs with all the love she has in her! Fiona’s story started with tragedy. But it doesn’t end there. It ends with you.

Story
His name is Charlie Bones, or Bones for short. And he’s been waiting for you.Bones is the kind of dog who doesn’t rush anything. And honestly, that might be the best thing about him. This handsome 7-year-old shepherd mix is quiet, shy, thoughtful, and loyal in the way that only a dog who’s been through something can be. He’s not going to jump all over you the first time you meet. He’s going to watch you. Take you in quietly. And when he decides he’s yours? That’s it. You’re his whole world.Bones was pulled from certain death at a Los Angeles County shelter due to lack of space. Since then, he’s spent months in exceptional professional training focused on decompression and confidence building, and it shows. He knows all his basic obedience commands. He’s healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and has a calm, medium energy level. He’s lived successfully with other calm dogs and older children. Here’s what Bones needs you to know: he likes to take things slow. He has boundaries, especially around his paws. He has a bite history from one uncomfortable moment of poor handling. We can’t erase that, but we can honor it for what it is. A reaction to his past. The part he’s ready to leave behind.Bones doesn’t need someone to fix him. He needs someone to understand him. A patient, gentle leader. An individual or a family with older children who will give him the structure and consistency he’s already proven he thrives with. His trainer will personally introduce Bones to his new family and provide guidance to set everyone up for long-term success. This is a dog with so many good, healthy years ahead of him. Years of walks and enrichment and quiet evenings and that moment where he finally puts his head in your lap and exhales — because he’s home. Be that home.
