Story
Meet Troy — a spunky young husky who is ready to bring everything you love about the breed into your life.Talkative? Absolutely. Obsessed with water? Yes. Ready to run? Always. If you know and love huskies, Troy is your guy.At his best, Troy is an absolute joy — romping through playgroup with other dogs, charming every person he meets, and filling a home with personality and noise (the good kind). He`s affectionate, fun-loving, and thrives with canine company, though he`s a little selective about his friends. Troy is working on his reactivity to other dogs on leash and behind a fence, so he`ll need an experienced home that understands the breed and can give him the structure and patience to keep making progress. A wrestling buddy at home could be a dream scenario for this guy.Shelter life is starting to wear on him — he`s losing weight and showing stress, which is why he`s been added to our urgent list. Troy deserves so much better than a kennel, and we know the right home is out there for him.

Story
Jonah is a sweet Siberian husky/malamute with a big personality and is afavorite among shelter staff and volunteers - exceptionally goofy, playful, sweet, and a total cuddle bug who loves his people. Jonah has spent several months in foster, where he immediately thrived. Athome, Jonah is chill, independent, and adaptable. He is house trained,non-destructive, sleeps 10+ hours overnight, and can be left at home for 6-8+ hours (after proper exercise). He loves to nap almost as much as heloves being with his people. He can be vocal but is not a husky howler, andhe has never shown escape tendencies. His favorite activities are walking, visiting the beach, and receiving belly rubs.Jonah responds best to clear behavior and predictability/consistency (inboth routine and body language). While new people or confusing behaviorscan excite him initially, it doesn’t take too long for him to observe, figure outhow this new part of his world works, and go back to his sleepy self. At times, Jonah has spurts of energy and excitement which can bemanaged since he is very smart, and food motivated. He has already comea long way when it comes to leash-pulling, recall, prey-drive (squirrels, mouse, rabbits) and impulse control, and he’s still making progress.Jonah is truly a one-of-a-kind dog who will brighten anyone’s life. He woulddo best with patient, husky, or malamute-familiar adopters with an activelifestyle, who can help keep him physically and mentally stimulated as partof the foundation for his training progress as well managing a large, strongdog, and advocating for Jonah’s communication style with new people. Jonah has so much potential and love to give. He is ready for his foreverhome!

Story
Suzy is proof of how love and patience can change everything. When Suzy first arrived at our shelter with her brother, she was completely shut down. She stood frozen in her kennel for days, unsure and overwhelmed. The only time her true self peeked through was around other dogs — her safe place. So we placed her in a foster home with a canine sibling, and that’s when everything changed. In foster care, Suzy has absolutely blossomed. At 2 years old, she still has that joyful puppy enthusiasm and loves to play! She’s the perfect medium size at 50 pounds — big enough for adventures, small enough to fit perfectly on the couch for snuggles (which she adores). She carries the alert ears and loyal heart of a shepherd, bonding deeply and completely with her people. While Suzy feels naturally at ease with another dog around, her fosters believe she could also thrive as an only pup — as long as her person is generous with love and affection. Once she trusts you, she is all in: loyal, cuddly, and devoted. One of Suzy’s happiest places? The water! She lights up on beach days with her foster family and would love a home that includes adventures — especially if they involve splashing.Suzy is looking for someone patient and understanding. She may need a few days to decompress and learn a new routine, but once she settles in, she becomes an incredibly loving and steady household companion. If you’re willing to give her that little bit of time, Suzy will give you her whole heart.
