Story
ABOUT LUNA Meet princess Luna, a 4-year-old Husky mix seeking a patient, experienced owner who understands her unique personality. Luna arrived at HAP, scared and unsure of the world around her. While we don’t know her full history, it’s clear she has endured some hardships. It took her a while to trust us, so she may need patience at your first meeting, but once she feels safe, her true self shines through! Luna is a sweet, playful, and wonderfully goofy girl with a classic Husky sassiness. She’s vocal about her feelings, loves playing with toys of all kinds, and enjoys chasing tennis balls. She thrives spending time outside sniffing, running, and playing. Once inside, she loves to curl up on her fluffy blankets and chew on her bones. Luna has a “less is more” quality, she’ll leave you wanting more, and she appreciates a slower, respectful approach when first meeting new people. While Luna has been able to pass other dogs with redirection, she hasn’t made any canine friends yet and may do best as the only pet in a home where she can be the pampered princess. Once she feels comfortable, she seeks out and enjoys affection, but she communicates her boundaries clearly and may escalate if her space isn’t respected. For this reason, Luna would thrive with older, respectful family members who understand and honor her communication style. With patience, love, and understanding, Luna will grow into a loyal and loving companion who brings joy, laughter, and a touch of Husky mischief into your home! **If interested in adopting Luna, please reach out to our trainer, Ben Touchton, at btouchton@hapde.org Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Story
Anka is a 2-3 yo female gsd. Anka had been a stray so needs some skills. She was treated for HW and is cleared. she is a gorgeous girl who loves exercise and fetch. We have been working on her skills with men but does very well with women. Did I mention: She LOVES fetch. She knows basic commands. She is the girl who will hear (with those ears) the Amazon guy or someone parking out front you cannot see. SHe is after all a German Shepherd. She is utd on shots and healthy. SHe gets along with some dogs but mostly those after a slow intro. RIght now she is friends with her 115 pound gsd housemate. We would recommend no children because she jumps and without exervcise can be jumpy.
