The Hyena Squad Has Entered the Chat 🐾🦴If you hear faint giggling in the distance… don’t panic. It’s just Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, and Azizi plotting world domination. Or, you know… chasing a leaf.Inspired by the iconic trio from The Lion King (and one from the live action remake), these four fluffy little Pride Rock plotters are 9 weeks old and already very large for their age.And they are going to be LARGE when fully grown. Now let’s talk reality beneath the fluff:These pups are a powerhouse blend of German Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, and Heeler… and if their coloring is any hint, possibly even a touch of Belgian Malinois for extra spice.Translation:They are brilliant. They are busy. They are not decorative throw pillows. They will grow into big, driven, athletic adults who need:• Daily exercise that actually counts• Structured training and consistency• Mental stimulation that challenges their sharp little brains• Adopters with shepherd or heeler experience who understand working breeds is ideal.Active families are a must. They may thrive in farm settings, but let’s be clear:They are not livestock guardian dogs meant to live outside 24/7.They want to help with chores. They want hikes. They want jobs. And then they need to live inside with their owners and be part of their daily life.If their Aussie genes show up strong in their coats, grooming will likely be part of the deal too.Yes, they are fluffy.Yes, they are adorable.Yes, their little hyena grins could convince you to make questionable decisions. But please research shepherd and heeler breeds before applying. Couch potatoes they are not. Think “full-time adventure companion.”If you’re ready for loyalty, intelligence, athleticism, and a dog who wants to work alongside you and then curl up at your feet at the end of the day… one of these Pride Rock plotters might be your match.Introducing the Serengeti Squad:Shenzi- Female (smallest of the pack)Banzai- MaleEd- Male (Spotted Merle coloring and largest of the pack)Azizi- Male To apply, visit EffinghamCountyHumaneSociety.orgTheir adoption fees are $225 and this includes their spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea and tick prevention, and a microchip that we register for you.Which hyena is your favorite?🐾

Story
This handsome fella is Nick. He's a 2yr old Shepherd-Heeler mix who was an unclaimed stray that we pulled from a shelter to save his life. Nick is full of energy and playfulness. He's in school to learn good manners and commands, and is doing so well! Nick would be a great addition to an active family. Nick is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and currently receiving prevention for flea, tick and heartworm. If you're interested in welcoming Nick into your family, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.
