Story
Hello world!  I am Aurora, a 2 years young Siberian Husky, that currently weighs 39 pounds, BUT I DO need to gain more weight! We are working on me eating lots and lots and gaining weight while I stay here at the shelter, it's been hard, but I have progressed slowly. My future adopt will need to be able to continue my feeding scheduled until I am where I am supposed to weigh! Which is only a few more pounds is what the staff tell me. Let's talk about the great things about me! This is what the shelter staff has to say about me...Aurora loves all people, is so sweet, gentle, easy to walk. SShe is always happy!Aurora is wonderful with other dogs, and is find around cats. She would integrate into any home easily!See, the staff likes me here. What they would like more is to see me in a home. They told me I am being listed as special needs, for a couple of reasons, but that it's time to at least give it try to find me a home that will help work through things with me with the support of the shelter. Here is what they have to say:Aurora came to us very underweight. We found out she has Giardia, which can cause a lot of diarrhea. She has been treated for this and now has regular poops! She continue to pee, a lot. We have tested her blood, stool samples, and urine. We treated her for a UTI to cover all bases. She continue to pee more than what we would say is normal. At this point, we believe it may be anxiety. She was in a foster home for a short time and the foster reported that while they were home, the urinating was not an issue, but when they would leave she would just pace and pee pace and pee. Recently we have started her on some medication to potentially help anxiety and are seeing if we see a difference in the peeing behavior. We just started this but we think it may be helping. Aurora's perfect home would be where someone is home a lot with her. As well as someone who has patience as we work though the urination concern. The staff is more than happy to answer and discuss any questions that future adopters may have on Aurora! Please reach out if interested. She is at the shelter and you can come meet her any day we are open.  Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 37.8 Age: 2yrs 1mths 2wks
