Story
Danny, a 16 month old gentle giant with a loving heart, awaits a forever home that understands his delicate nature. In his past, trauma has left scars, but with the right environment, he can blossom into the affectionate companion he longs to be. A quiet home with a single female owner working from home, would provide Danny with the stability and comfort he needs. His present foster environment has an adult male and female. Danny is always connected to the female but bounces back and forth with the male. One day he is terrified and runs to his crate whenever the male arrives, and the next day he is licking his face and wanting scratches and loving. He is unsure of smaller humans and would be best suited in a home without children under 10-12 years old. Danny's emotional intelligence is extraordinary. He is incredibly perceptive of human emotions and can sense when someone is feeling down or anxious. This empathy makes him an exceptional companion, offering comfort and support through his gentle presence.Danny is well-trained and knows various commands and tricks having completed beginner and intermediate training. He walks well on a leash, listening attentively to his human's instructions. However, his recall is still a work in progress, though he is a quick learner and eager to please.Despite his impressive size, Danny is surprisingly playful and energetic. He loves to run and can spend hours chasing after a ball or engaging in friendly games with his foster brother. However, he is still unsure about his dog beds, having gone through several before finding a few that he feels comfortable with.Danny's love for toys is undeniable, but his black Kong is his absolute favorite. It's the only toy that can withstand his chewing prowess. While he can be cautious and nervous around men, Danny is gradually socializing well with his neighbors and friends. He is believed to be a mix of Shepherd and either Boxer or Belgian Malinois (based on his colouring), a combination that results in a large and loving dog.Danny's safe spot is his crate, and he needs unrestricted access to it at all times. He enjoys car rides, couches and beds but we are unsure if he was ever allowed on them in the past. His passive and chill demeanor makes him a delightful companion, but patience is essential as he gets to know his new surroundings and people. In the past, Danny struggled with anxiety peeing and separation anxiety. He was successful in breaking out of standard wire crates (through brute force). Once he got an escape proof crate, he seemed to have given up on his escape attempts and is quite content hanging out in his safe space While he has made significant progress, there may be days when he reverts to these behaviors. It's important to remember that he would thrive best in a larger area with a fenced-in yard and daily walks to provide him with the mental and physical stimulation he needs.Danny is neutered, up-to-date with all his shots, and on a particular supplement that his new family should continue with, as recommended by his veterinarian. He is a big love bug who enjoys fetching shoes and playing with his foster brother, though he is still learning to be mindful of his size around smaller dogs.Danny is a unique old soul who deserves a loving and patient family who will cherish him for the gentle giant he is. With the right environment and care, he will blossom into a loyal and devoted companion, filling their lives with endless love and joy.HIstory: Danny was part of the Dover Dozen, a group of 12 puppies dumped at the side of a road near Port Dover. He unfortunately spent the first 11 months of his life in a shelter. He has been fostered since March of 2024, with his foster brother Dexter (who is also available for adoption). The two of them together provide endless hours of laughter and entertainment and a dual adoption would certainly be an option. Gloris is a German Shepherd who was found as a stray. At her first vet visit "GLORIA" was found to barely weigh 19 kg, (now at a perfect weight 30 kg), and had a serious iron deficiency. After a long and very costly treatment that took a lot of meds, special prescription food and tons of TLC "GLORIA" in now a SPFG picture of heath, fully vetted and vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. "GLORIA " is extremely social with people and adores interacting with them.. She is very human centered and amiable. Always vying for attention. With our other dogs, she is playful, active and agile. We have also leash trained and house broken her. "GLORIA" will be the perfect addition to any kind of family environment! Story
Meet Ogu   Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Husky / Jindo Mix Color: Black & Ivory Weight: 24 kg Height: 56 cm (shoulder)   Rescue Story Ogu was found wandering in front of a home on May 6, 2025. When we searched nearby the area the next day, we learned he had been tied up and kept outdoors for about 8 months after being taken in as a puppy the previous fall.   It’s believed that during the holiday period, he was left without food, managed to break free, and came down searching for help. His previous owner has since surrendered ownership, and now Ogu is ready for a fresh start   Personality with People Ogu is incredibly affectionate and people-loving. He happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention.   He loves men and children alike, and is gentle and easy to handle — even allowing herself to be picked up comfortably. He truly enjoys being around people and thrives on human connection   Social with Other Dogs Ogu is very social and friendly with other dogs. He enjoys greeting new dogs and loves to play!   He gets along well with dogs of similar size and energy, and even when other dogs are pushy or playful, he remains tolerant and easygoing. If a dog is too energetic or confrontational, he tends to calmly avoid the situation.   He has also shown no issues with smaller dogs.   With Cats His reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but testing can be arranged.   Energy Level Ogu has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities but settles down nicely afterward and relaxes calmly at home.   Walks He may pull on the leash at times, but overall follows his handler well and is responsive.   Other Notes • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • No separation anxiety observed • May bark impatiently when waiting for meals • Comfortable jumping into the car on her own • Quiet and calm inside a crate • Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination   Ogu is a loving, social, and well-balanced boy who is ready to leave his past behind and find a family to call his own   If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who gets along with everyone, Ogu could be the perfect match Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please visit our Facebook or Instagram.
