Story
Meet Ogu   Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Husky / Jindo Mix Color: Black & Ivory Weight: 24 kg Height: 56 cm (shoulder)   Rescue Story Ogu was found wandering in front of a home on May 6, 2025. When we searched nearby the area the next day, we learned he had been tied up and kept outdoors for about 8 months after being taken in as a puppy the previous fall.   It’s believed that during the holiday period, he was left without food, managed to break free, and came down searching for help. His previous owner has since surrendered ownership, and now Ogu is ready for a fresh start   Personality with People Ogu is incredibly affectionate and people-loving. He happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention.   He loves men and children alike, and is gentle and easy to handle — even allowing herself to be picked up comfortably. He truly enjoys being around people and thrives on human connection   Social with Other Dogs Ogu is very social and friendly with other dogs. He enjoys greeting new dogs and loves to play!   He gets along well with dogs of similar size and energy, and even when other dogs are pushy or playful, he remains tolerant and easygoing. If a dog is too energetic or confrontational, he tends to calmly avoid the situation.   He has also shown no issues with smaller dogs.   With Cats His reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but testing can be arranged.   Energy Level Ogu has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities but settles down nicely afterward and relaxes calmly at home.   Walks He may pull on the leash at times, but overall follows his handler well and is responsive.   Other Notes • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • No separation anxiety observed • May bark impatiently when waiting for meals • Comfortable jumping into the car on her own • Quiet and calm inside a crate • Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination   Ogu is a loving, social, and well-balanced boy who is ready to leave his past behind and find a family to call his own   If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who gets along with everyone, Ogu could be the perfect match Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Elsa is a 1-year-old female Wolfdog, weighing 23kg. She was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now, she’s looking for a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Elsa is full of energy, curiosity, and love, making every day an adventure! Personality & Behavior Elsa is a bright and affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She expresses her excitement with joyful jumps when greeting her favorite humans. While this is endearing, she already understands the "sit" command, so with consistent training, she can learn to greet politely. Elsa thrives on human interaction and will form a deep bond with her owner through love, training, and patience. She is still learning how to socialize with other dogs properly. While she is not aggressive, she needs time and guidance to build confidence in dog interactions. Currently, she is undergoing training to help her navigate social situations with other pups. With continued support, she will improve and learn to play in a balanced way. Activity & Training Needs As a Wolfdog, Elsa is naturally athletic and has impressive jumping ability. She needs an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise to stay happy and well-behaved. A daily routine of long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime will help her burn off energy and settle calmly at home. She is currently in training, where she follows a structured routine that includes three outdoor exercise sessions a day for potty breaks and play. If her new family maintains a similar schedule, Elsa will quickly adjust to her new home. Elsa is an intelligent dog who picks up training quickly. She already knows "sit" and is learning to wait calmly for treats. With consistent training, she has the potential to learn many more commands and become a well-mannered companion. The Perfect Home for Elsa Elsa will thrive in a home with: ✔️ An active family who enjoys outdoor activities ✔️ Someone committed to training and bonding with her ✔️ Experience with large dogs (or a willingness to learn) Elsa is young and still learning, but she is full of potential. With love, patience, and the right training, she will grow into a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog to share adventures with, Elsa is waiting for you!

Quick Facts Name: StellaAge: 2.5 years old (born May 2022)Gender: FemaleNeutered: YesBreed: HuskyColour: White & BlackWeight: 25 kg approximate    My Story I’m Stella, a brave and loving Siberian Husky with a heart full of courage and a spirit that shines brighter than ever. Let me tell you my story!I’m a beautiful black-and-white Husky, weighing about 25 kg (55 lbs). My journey began in a breeding facility where I endured tough conditions before being rescued from a local shelter. Along the way, I faced some challenges, including glaucoma, which led to the removal of my eyes. But don’t let that fool you—I navigate the world with confidence, relying on my other senses and my incredible memory to thrive. Thanks to loving volunteers, I’ve blossomed into a happy, affectionate pup who’s ready to find her forever home.    My Personality I’m a friendly and affectionate girl who loves people. While I had a rough start and was wary of humans initially, I’ve completely opened up and now adore spending time with those who care for me. I’m full of energy, playful, and love to show off my sweet and goofy side. I might get startled if someone touches my face unexpectedly, but with gentle guidance, I quickly regain my trust and composure. Once I know you’re my person, I’ll remember you forever—my loyalty knows no bounds.    My Social Side I’m great with people and enjoy meeting new friends, both human and canine. While I’m happy to share my space and food with people, I might give a little growl if another dog approaches my food bowl—it’s just my way of setting boundaries. I rarely bark, and my calm demeanor makes me a great companion. I’ve adjusted well to life without sight and navigate social situations with ease, relying on my incredible memory and intuition.    Energy and Activities I have a moderate to high energy level typical of Huskies, so I love getting outside for walks and playtime. Despite my blindness, I walk beautifully on a leash and enjoy exploring the world around me with my human. At home, I settle down nicely after some activity and enjoy quiet time by your side. I’m house-trained, comfortable with both outdoor potty routines and indoor pads, making me adaptable to various living arrangements.   Special Notes I’m a resilient, affectionate dog who’s overcome challenges with grace and a wagging tail. My unique journey has only made me stronger and more loving. I don’t let my blindness slow me down—I’m still as playful, active, and joyful as any other dog. With my incredible memory and bond with people, I’ll be your most loyal companion. Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Howell Age: Around 2 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Husky mix Color: Grey & white Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound, where I had been placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn’t enough space. Thanks to my rescuers, I got a second chance at life—and now, I’m safe and dreaming of finding my forever family to love and care for me!   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I have all the charm of a typical husky and still act like a very young pup! My teeth are so clean that staff and volunteers believe I’m around 1–2 years old. I’m a super energetic girl who may seem a little reserved at first, but I warm up quickly and don’t have much trouble bonding with people. I get along well with other dogs too, though I do best with furry friends who can match my high energy and love for play!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little reserved at first, but I’ll gladly take treats from your hand. Give me a bit of time, and I’ll warm up to you before you know it! I’m also comfortable being picked up, making me a sweet and affectionate companion. · With Dogs: I love making new dog friends and playing with them! I’m very energetic, so I do best with dogs who have a similar play style. If another dog is pushy or rude, I’m not afraid to stand my ground, so slow and thoughtful introductions are important at first when I meet new furry friends. · With Cats: During walks, I get super excited and can’t resist chasing cats when I see them outside. Due to this, I would do best in a home without small animals or cats, where I can safely enjoy my adventures and focus on having fun with my family!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I’m a super high-energy girl—just like a typical husky! I thrive on plenty of outdoor adventures and mental stimulation before I can settle down nicely indoors. With the right activities, I’m happy, playful, and full of life!   TRAINING & HABITS I’m still polishing my leash walking skills—I get super excited and tend to pull a lot! With continued guidance, I’ll learn to be calmer during walks. Loud noises can startle me, so I walk best in quieter areas. I don’t guard my food around people, but I can be sensitive when other dogs come near me during mealtime, so I’ll need structure and management then. I know how to rest calmly in my kennel, and I’m confident getting on and off the car. I potty both indoors on a pee pad and outdoors, though with a consistent walk schedule, I prefer to go outside.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A family that understands that I will need more guidance with leash walking.  A family that understands my high energy needs and ideally experienced with huskies.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m considered a level 2 rescue dog, which means I’ll need at least a few days to a week to adjust to my new environment. I’m a super sweet girl with so much potential! I already know some basic commands, like sit and wait, and I’m eager to learn even more. For my safety, it’s important that I’m double-leashed with a harness and collar at first, so I don’t accidentally slip out while getting used to my new surroundings.   Howell's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2613215##

QUICK FACTS Name: Stella Age: About 3.5 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Siberia Husky Color: Grey, Black and White Weight: 30kg / 66lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I came from a breeding facility, but I was given a chance to leave that life behind. Now I’m safe and ready to start a new chapter with a loving family of my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues Eyes removed due to glaucoma in 2024   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Stella. I was born in a breeding facility and spent more than a year there before I was rescued. Since coming to the rescue, I’ve been learning about the world—going on walks, eating yummy meals, and slowly building my confidence with people. Even though I can’t see, I’ve adapted very well. My sense of smell and hearing are excellent, and when you call my name, I happily come toward you. I’m very affectionate with people and love gentle touch, though I prefer that hands approach me calmly rather than suddenly. I’m a dog who has overcome many challenges, but I’m still full of sweetness and love. I may see the world differently, but I’m ready to share my warm heart and loyal companionship with a patient and caring forever family.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I love being close to humans! Not only with people I already know — I’ll happily walk up to new friends too, rub against them, and let them pet me right away. I can be scooped up by placing your arms under my belly and lifting me. I’m comfortable being picked up like that! I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, but I think I love them already! · With Dogs: I’m not very interested in other dogs, and if one provokes me, I usually just growl to say I’d rather keep my space. I feel more comfortable focusing on my person. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I like to enjoy my playtime outdoors, and I am happy to come inside and snuggle afterwards! I sometimes pull a little on the leash when we’re walking, but I generally follow my person well and like staying close. With a bit of guidance and practice, I can keep improving my leash manners and become an even better walking buddy!   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food from people, but if another dog comes too close during mealtime, I might give a little growl to say, “This is my food!”Sometimes when I want something — like attention, treats, or playtime — I might bark to let you know. It’s just my way of asking! When I’m in a kennel, I stay calm and well-behaved. I settle in quietly and relax.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES In 2024, I had both of my eyes removed due to glaucoma. Even though I can’t see anymore, I’m learning to navigate the world in my own special way. Dogs like me rely on our amazing sense of smell, hearing, and memory to get around, and with a loving family and a consistent environment, we can live happy and fulfilling lives. I may experience the world a little differently, but I still have so much love to give and many cuddles to share.    Stella's Youtube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2683591##

Story
Sweet Duffy has had a rough start to life. He and his siblings were found at a garbage dump in Northern Manitoba.  They were so fortunate to be discovered by a local dog rescue that connected with Flights for Hope. D Duffy and one littermate were flown to Toronto and are doing well.  They have been vaccinated, dewormed, treated for any parasites and bathed. He is approximately 12 weeks old and weighs in at 8 pounds. He is underweight but gaining nicely.  His skin condition needs to improve and he's already had a warm soothing bath. It has been recommended that he get medicated baths with conditioner a few more times.  He's currently eating Royal Canin dry mixed with canned and is a good eater.  He has a lovely disposition and attached very quickly to his foster mom and dad. He adores his littermate and wants to be near her as often as he can. He can be quite vocal when she is not nearby. A home with another dog might bode well for Duffy.  He loves all his toys and plays nicely with them. As a puppy, he's not yet housetrained but is on the road to success already - he's one clever boy!  Remember that puppies require a lot of time and dedication so be ready to commit and pack your patience for puppies April 6, 2026, 10:09 am

**This dog is in a foster home in Saint Catherine. Apply to adopt at lastminutedogrescue.comAs a chow mix, Kenji is hard-wired for loyalty and protection. Being glued to the side of his person and eyeing strangers with a bit suspicion is in his DNA, so you can just imagine how hard he's worked to fit in to modern suburban life, so that someone will bring him home and love him forever like he deserves. He's been waiting for more than 4 years. Hes adoring, wildly affectionate, and a total goofball. At about 6-7 years old and 50ish lbs, Kenji is gorgeous, healthy, and perfect. He's passionate about playing fetch, delights in his walks and adventures, is an eager and fun co-pilot in the car, and has an excellent off-switch once hes had his daily outing, hes more than happy to curl up nearby and nap like a professional. He knows sit, politely waits for food, is house trained, and walks well on a leash. He may occasionally pause mid-walk for an impromptu cuddle, maybe for a bit of reassurance, or maybe just cause he's bursting with love. He does not have separation anxiety, as he is used to waiting alone for someone to come spend time with him....not that he's al all happy about that! There's nothing he wants more than companionship. Kenji is thoughtful, highly observant and still a bit wary of the unknown. New situations, unfamiliar men, and first meetings with other dogs can make him feel unsure at first. With slow introductions, calm handling, and a few well-timed treats, he settles nicely and builds trust. Once he does, his affection is steady and sincere the kind that sticks. On top of being about the most loving dog you can imagine, Kenji is a smart boy and is super excited to learn new things. Engaging him in training exercises is both fun and hugely satisfying, because he thrives on engagement, and you can see all over his face how overjoyed he is to be rewarded for getting things right.Kenjis lingering insecurity at times makes perfect sense when you know his story. Picked up as a stray in the southern U.S., he spent far too long in a kennel, confused about what was expected of him, before finally experiencing foster life and learning what it means to belong. Through his challenges, he has emerged as a gentle, loving, and deeply people-oriented companion proof of how resilient and special he truly is.Kenji will do best in a quiet, predictable home, ideally with women, and only children over 10 who are good at respecting boundaries. He has a moderate prey drive and is not cat-friendly. He's a bit selective about his dog buddies, and does best with polite, low-drama canine companions.Kenji isnt a project dog.Hes a relationship dog who sometimes needs a bit of time and patience to feel safe -- but man oh man, once he does, no one will ever love you more.Kenji is ready to go home!Name: KenjiWeight: ~54 PoundsAge: Adult, shelter was unsure of age but stated 'young adult'Gender: Neutered MaleBreed: Chow mixColour: Goldish redMedical (past and present) & HW Status: Treated for HW, up to date on vaccines, no known health concernsFixed: YesGood with adults: Shy at first but warms up Good with kids: Older, calm kids, pref girls Good with dogs: Yes, with slow introductions to friendly dogs!Good with cats: NoHouse trained: Mostly!Crate trained: If he has to, Kenji can settle in his crate, though he really doesn't love it. Story
Hi, I’m Rian 💛 I’m a 5-year-old boy, a Malamute–Husky mix, and I weigh about 23kg. I know… I look big and strong, maybe even a little cool. But if you get to know me, you’ll see—I’m actually just a big softie. I really, really love people. Even if we’ve just met, I might come right up to you like, “Hi… can we be friends?” I love being close to my person. Spending time together, making eye contact, sharing quiet moments… that’s what makes me feel safe and happy. Once I open my heart, I become very affectionate. I’ll want to stay near you, lean into you, and just be by your side as much as I can. I get along well with other dogs too! I have a gentle nature and enjoy playing, whether it’s with toys or with friends. I’m a bright, cheerful boy who just enjoys life and companionship. I was rescued from a place where my time was almost over… but I didn’t lose my trust in people. I still believe in love, and I’m still reaching out for it. I’m also a pretty quick learner! If you teach me with patience and consistency, I’ll do my best to understand and follow along. Because of my Malamute and Husky side, I do have lots of energy. I’ll need regular walks, exercise, and time to really let that energy out. A quick walk won’t always be enough—I’d love a family who enjoys being active with me. I can also have a little independent streak (maybe just a tiny bit stubborn sometimes… 😊), so I’ll need someone who can guide me with calm, steady leadership. Living in a home might be new for me, so I’ll need to learn things like house routines and potty habits from the beginning. But if you’re patient with me, I know I can become an amazing companion. I’m already ready to love someone with my whole heart. All I need now… is someone who will accept me, guide me, and stay with me for life. Will you be my person? 💛

Story
Hi… I’m Duri 🤍 Before I met kind people, I spent a long time on my own… without care, without warmth. I just endured each day the best I could. But things have changed now. I’ve been given a chance to start over— and I’m waiting for a family to share that new beginning with. Maybe… that could be you. People say I look strong and handsome. My thick fur, my clear eyes… sometimes I remind them of a brown husky. But what I really want you to see isn’t just how I look— It’s who I am. I like people. I really do. I’ll come up to you first, gently, hoping to connect. I enjoy being close, sharing quiet moments, feeling like I belong. I also get along well with other dogs. Being around friends feels natural to me, and I’m comfortable sharing space and energy with them. Inside me, I carry something special— the calm loyalty of an Akita, and the intelligence and quick learning of a Jindo. That means when I bond with you… it won’t be shallow. It will be deep. Steady. Unbreakable. But I’m still learning. Living in a home is new to me. Things like potty training, daily routines, and how to behave indoors—these are things you’ll need to teach me, step by step. Because I’m a strong and active dog, I’ll also need guidance on walks and basic manners. I want to do well—I just need someone to show me how. In the beginning, I might seem a little unsure. A new place, a new life… it can feel overwhelming. But if you stay patient, consistent, and kind with me, I will find my balance. I’m not a difficult dog— but I am a dog who needs understanding. Someone who won’t just “have” me, but will truly live with me. Teach me. Connect with me. If you can do that… I promise you something rare. A bond built on trust. A loyalty that doesn’t fade. A companion who stands by you, no matter what. I’ve already come so far from where I started. Now I just need a place to finally belong. No more loneliness. Just warmth… and you. Will you be my forever family? 🤍
