Story
Meet Max ❤️ This loyal 5‑year‑old German Shepherd is the perfect blend of friendly and playful—a fun guy who enjoys spending time with people and loves showing off his happy trot when it’s time for a walk. Max is fully house‑trained and crate‑trained, and prefers a home that’s energetic and playful like he is. He hasn’t met cats or kids yet and has lived with another dog. He does best with social, playful dogs that can match his rowdy play style. Max’s journey includes a small medical piece, but it’s one that’s easily supported with consistent care. He has hypothyroidism, a common condition where the thyroid glands don't produce enough of the thyroid hormone. Treatment is straightforward—just a daily medication—and many dogs with this condition live long, happy, normal lives. Hypothyroidism tends to make dogs lower‑energy or prone to weight gain. Since starting his medication, Max's energy has greatly improved, and he's had a new lease on life! Apply to adopt Max today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶

Story
Stella Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Stella is a sweet, social girl who loves people of all ages and enjoys spending time with her foster family. Whether she's joining you on a walk, riding along on errands, playing with her favorite toys, or soaking up belly rubs on the couch, she's happiest when she's with her people. Stella gets along well with other dogs, is comfortable riding in the car, settles nicely in her crate, and can be left alone without being destructive. She's also making great progress with her house training! Stella loves going for walks and is always taking in the world around her. As a young dog, she'll thrive with continued training, regular exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment to help her grow into the best version of herself. A fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus, giving her a safe place to run, play, and burn off some of that youthful energy. Because she has a high prey drive, Stella is looking for a home without cats or other small animals. Stella is looking for a family that will continue her training, shower her with love, and make her a cherished member of the family. In return, she'll reward you with endless affection, happy tail wags, and a lifetime of loyal companionship.   **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic.   If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
