Silver is a 3-year-old neutered male Siberian husky, good with other dogs and with older kids due to some resource guarding. Silver will need a fenced-in yard and to be supervised outside since his recall isn’t the best (yet!) He is your typical Husky. He is mouthy & talkative! He loves people, treats, playing ball and fetch, and other dogs! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. Story
Ken Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! I’m just Ken! This Ken is one of a kind! He’s a gorgeous 1.5 year old husky, weighing about 55 lbs. He’s a super friendly guy, ready to greet everyone he meets! He’s good with people, other dogs, & kids. Ken still acts like the playful puppy he is, & could benefit from continued training. Given his breed, Ken requires a lot of physical & mental stimulation. He’s good in the car, and would love to be part of a family who enjoys the great outdoors & will include him on their adventurers! A large, fenced yard where he can run free would be ideal. Ken is both house & crate trained & looking for love! If you love huskies, you’ve got to meet Ken! **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Looking for someone to stay up and have late-night chats? If you said yes, Ricky is the pup for you! While he doesn’t often take requests, Ricky does love singing the song of his breed. He also happily stays up chatting with his foster dad while he plays video games (his foster dad, not him, although Ricky does have commentary on how he is playing!)Ricky is currently living with four other dogs in his foster home and is gaining confidence through them. He loves playing with the dogs and has started listening to their corrections as he learns how to be a dog in the home again. For this reason, we think another confident dog in the home would be beneficial for this boy. Ricky will need continuous exercise, and is happy to run, walk and jog wherever you’d like to go. (However, we’re still working on the car, that thing is a little scary!) Ricky is house trained and crate trained but has shown to be fine left in a gated off area as well. Ricky is slow to trust but when he does, he loves his people hard. We’d love to find him a home with husky experience as he does exhibit typical husky behaviors that his foster parents are continuing to work on and he is excelling. What’re you waiting for? Well, what can we say about Helios and Hercules? These two husky mix breeds are just awesome!!!These boys were on their last day at a TX shelter. The shelter workers contacted one of our southern rescuers and said they were just the sweetest dogs ever, how could she say no?And guess what? The workers were 100% correct! These handsome gentove all humans. They meet other dogs well and had no interest in cats during cat test. https://youtu.be/kkoMkaLpATA?feature=sharedThey so enjoy belly rubs, treats, playtime....just 2 happy fellas! Helios and Hercules are housebroken with a doggie door and have tolerated short periods of crating. They have been crated short periods. Leash training is in process.True to their breed, these boys are really smart, already sit for treats and have really good manners. They don't jump up on you and aren't big barkers but they do talk to you if they have something to say. They also travel well.A perfect home would be one with some husky experience, another playful dog and/or older kids to play with. As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. 1 1/2 years old This baby has found itself in a high kill animal control, adoptions nationwide are at an all time low, if your looking to adopt please do it now! All the urgent dogs are temperament tested in animal control, it’s not extensive but if they have made it this far they must be good dogs. Story
🖤SHILOH🐾 Gentle, handsome, senior husky 🐕 After years of neglect, he’s safe in rescue & getting the care he deserves. We were told that he formally belonged to a neighbor who used to keep him on a chain and never let him in. But recently he had let him go and said he did not want him anymore. Probably because, Shiloh had a tumor growing on his underside and he did not want to be responsible. He has finished his antibiotics and steroids, and the tumor has been removed. The good news is …. It isn’t cancerous!!! And his heart and lungs, and all other x-rays were clear 🖤 True to his breed, he is vocal and full of adorable personality. He greets every human with a soft “awoooo” and lots of cuteness😍 Good with other dogs, but doesn’t need any in his forever home. He’s a bit of a loner. 🤣 In search of a yard to sunbathe in, snacks & pets from people that love him, and the opportunity to live out his golden years how he deserves 💕 If you’re interested in adopting a settled, senior boy, please consider welcoming Shiloh into your home! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
