Barkley, Barkley, a 3-4 year old male saint bernard POODLE (neutered/UTD) is adorable and has the sweetest puppy dog eyes, with a gentle paw when he wants a cookie. He's housebroken and so easy to walk on a leash. Spoke with owner. Long story. Owner is 76 years old and cannot handle all these dogs. Barkley lived with 3 giant saint doodle brothers. He is the only one that looks more saint. He has never seen a cat. Loves to play in yard. Great with all the other dogs at the rescue and foster farm. Was surrendered due to a hole in neighbor's fence. He got out and neighbor would not let them get him and called animal control. The neighbor will not fix the hole and will not let the owner fix it ("being its their fence and you better not touch it). Owner is her 70s and felt having 4 large breed dogs too much. Folks at the shelter speak of how very sweet and gentle he is - even when giving him a cookie. He lived with three giant St. poodles. Also, he is the only one that sheds and the grandon who lives with her is allergic. As mentioned, he is currently at the foster farm with 10 other dogs and NO issues... and barn cats - he doesnt bother with them either. Call me/text at 610-787-2353 if you want to adopt and or foster.

Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application
