Meet Princess, a two-year-old Husky mix weighing 46 pounds.Princess is a wonderful medium-sized pup with a big heart and a whole new life ahead of her. She was rescued by Animal Control after being seized from a home where she and many other dogs were living in neglect. All of the dogs arrived with varying degrees of skin issues and flea infestations, and while Princess has some hair loss right now, we’re hopeful that with proper care, time, and lots of TLC, her beautiful coat will grow back in.It’s clear Princess hasn’t had the easiest life, but she hasn’t let that change her sweet spirit. Now, she’s ready to discover all the things she’s been missing out on—long walks, new smells, soft beds, kind people, and the simple joy of being a loved dog.Princess already enjoys leash walks and exploring her surroundings, making her a fun companion for someone ready to help her experience the world. And at a great medium size, she’s just the right size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between!She’s ready to leave her past behind and start learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for. Her transformation is just beginning, and we can’t wait to watch this sweet Princess blossom into the happy, confident girl she was always meant to be.This pet is available for adoption on 8.28.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. This beautiful Husky girl is friendly, sweet, and ready to leave her rough start behind and find a family of her own.Callie is treat motivated, which is always a great way to make friends and help with training! She’s also a good girl on leash and seems to enjoy getting out and exploring. With her friendly nature and eagerness to please, Callie has all the makings of a wonderful companion.As a Husky, Callie comes with all the traits that make the breed so special. Huskies are intelligent, energetic, curious, and adventurous dogs who thrive when they have plenty of exercise, enrichment, and interaction with their people. They can also have a strong prey drive, so Callie would do best in a home without chickens or other small animals she may be tempted to chase. She has shown a lot of interest in the chickens here, so a chicken-free home will be the best fit for everyone.Callie came to us after she was possibly hit by a car, but thankfully, her X-rays showed that she is all good! Her beautiful sugar muzzle only adds to her charm, giving her a distinguished look that perfectly matches her gentle spirit.Chia Seeds was found abandoned near an elk feeding station, far from where anyone would expect a dog to end up on her own. She has a microchip, and although we reached out to the listed owners—and even confirmed through a relative that we had the correct contact information—we never received a response. Now this deserving girl is ready to leave her past behind and find a family that will love her for the rest of her life.Her finders had wonderful things to say about her. They reported that Chia Seeds peacefully coexisted with their outdoor chickens and cats, never bothering them. They even watched her on security cameras calmly walking past the animals without issue. While every new home and animal introduction should be done slowly and thoughtfully, this speaks to her kind and respectful nature.As a German Shepherd, Chia Seeds is part of a breed known for its intelligence, loyalty, and eagerness to bond with its family.
