Story
Meet Katana!Katana is a gorgeous Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart full of sweetness and a playful spirit. This friendly girl loves to run and gets the zoomies when she’s excited—she’ll keep you laughing with her bursts of energy! Katana is still getting used to loud noises, so she’ll need a patient home that can help her feel safe and secure as she adjusts. With her affectionate nature and adventurous personality, Katana would thrive in a home where she can enjoy playtime, exercise, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will brighten your days and keep life fun, Katana is ready to meet you! Please do your breed research before applying to adopt. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane-Ellensburg Shelter If you recognize this animal, please contact the adoption center at 509-925-7387 Ready to adopt? Story
Meet Wilie, a one-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 43 pounds. Wilie is a handsome, medium-sized boy with striking features that give him a charming fox-like appearance. He came to us microchipped, but sadly, his previous owners haven’t reached out, so we’re hoping to find a loving new home where he can feel safe and cherished. When Wilie first arrived, he was understandably nervous—so much of the world is new to him! He’s still learning about leashes and the routines of daily life, but with patience and gentle guidance, we’re confident he’ll grow in confidence and trust. This sweet boy has a submissive, easygoing nature and absolutely loves belly rubs—once he feels safe, he’ll happily roll over and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. Wilie would thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can take things at his own pace, build his confidence, and learn to enjoy life alongside a patient family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will grow more loving and confident each day, Wilie might just be your perfect match. This pet is available for adoption on 3/22/2026 at 11:26 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
