Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it. Meet Rock!Rock came to the shelter in May of last year and has been patiently waiting for a place to call home ever since. He was found abandoned at a local dog park here in Walworth County. Frightened and unsure of strangers, Rock wasn’t about to walk up to just anyone. A staff member and a Good Samaritan tried to find him the night before with no luck. Thankfully, that kind-hearted Good Samaritan came out the next day. With the help of her own friendly pup, she was able to gain Rock’s trust and safely bring him to us. Since that day, he’s been under our care, waiting for his fresh start.Rock is the kind of dog who makes you earn his affection — and that just makes it all the more special. He’s an independent guy who loves to explore the trails, take in his surroundings, and quietly observe the world around him. He may not immediately seek out attention, but bring out a treat and you’ll have his full, unwavering focus!Rock is a smart boy who already knows how to sit and will happily offer his paw in exchange for a snack — and yes, it’s quite the thick paw.
