Story
Hi, it’s me—the world’s biggest fan of squeaky toys, cuddles, and ignoring the concept of personal space. If you sit down, just know I’ll be sitting on top of you within seconds, preferably with a toy in my mouth that I’ll squeak right into your ear while declaring my love. I currently share my life with two other dogs, and together we’ve formed a professional-level tug-of-war team, but I’m also down for a good game of chase outside. Speaking of outside, it’s my happy place—I’ll strut on a leash like I own the block or hang out on a tie-out. I’m also a kennel pro. I’ll snooze in there no problem, but between us, I’d rather snuggle in bed with you because cuddles > everything. At mealtimes, I like to think of myself as a food enthusiast—okay fine, a food hog—but my foster mom promises me I’ll never have to compete again, so I’m practicing my manners. Full honesty moment: I’m still working on my potty training, so I’ll need a patient human who can help me learn a good routine.  I’m a smart pup and eager to please—I just need a little guidance (and maybe a few treats along the way).    My mom puts these stylish belly bands on when I am inside.  Also, I take my neighborhood watch duties very seriously—I like to bark at, well… everything outside. Squirrels, people, leaves… you name it. With some training and reassurance, I can learn when it’s time to sound the alarm and when it’s time to relax.  I wear an extra collar sometimes to help me with this, and it makes a silly beeping noise when I bark too much.  Because I’m such an enthusiastic, wiggly guy who loves his toys (and sometimes forgets his size and manners), I’d do best in a home with older kids who can handle my energy and help me keep learning good habits.   I enjoy staring dramatically out the window, plotting how to catch squirrels and rabbits (spoiler: they’re winning). I’ve got some energy after being in my kennel for a while, but once I wear myself out, I turn into a certified cuddle bug. So—what do you say? Want to adopt a toy-obsessed, cuddle-demanding, slightly chatty, squirrel-watching sidekick who will keep life fun, funny, and full of squeaks?           Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet your future tiny chaos fox  (with a heart of gold): This is a Shiba Inu who did NOT read the Shiba manual. Seriously—someone forgot to tell him he’s supposed to be aloof, mysterious, and mildly judgmental. Instead, this guy is basically a velcro marshmallow who is constantly checking in like, “Hi… hello… yes… is this a good time for pets??” He is: Fully house trained (a gentleman). Needed an acclimation period to prevent marking but has full trust in social areas now. An absolute DREAM on a leash (no zig-zag nonsense) A chill co-pilot in the car (windows down = vibes up). Just don’t let him know your lap is an alternate option for the ride! A certified athlete with Olympic-level zoomies This boy has energy for days. We’re talking runs, rollerblading, adventures—he’s ready to be your personal fitness coach whether you asked for one or not. He’s got a few scratches and cuts from his short life on the street, but he seems to be healing up quickly. Socially? Crushed it. He gets along great with our other dogs and knows how to hang. Now let’s address the most important personality trait: He LOVES food. No, that’s not strong enough. He REALLY REALLY LOVES FOOD. If food were a religion, he’d be the high priest. And if he feels under-petted, under-loved, or under-snacked? Oh, he will let you know—with his very own dramatic, soulful, slightly chaotic howling serenade. Think: part wolf, part opera singer, part “excuse me I have concerns.” In summary: Sweet? Yes.  Goofy? Extremely.  Loyal? Absolutely.  Quiet? …let’s circle back to that.  If you’re looking for a hilarious, affectionate, high-energy companion who will love you deeply and remind you loudly when you forget to pet him—this is your guy. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
About Me Meet Sammy, a distinguished senior gentleman with a heart for routine and a soft spot for quiet companionship. At 8+ years old, Sammy is the perfect blend of independence and loyalty—he’ll happily follow you from room to room, but he also appreciates having his own space respected. Once he warms up, you’ll be treated to his signature head butts and the comfort of knowing you’re his chosen person. Sammy thrives on structure and daily walks—3 to 4 outings a day, rain or shine, are non-negotiable for him. He’s not a fan of doing his business in the yard, so those walks are essential for his happiness (and your peace of mind). While he’s leash trained and generally does well, he can be selective with other dogs and may react if another dog does first. With gentle guidance, he’s learning to navigate these moments. He’s a meticulous self-groomer but needs help with brushing, especially on his back. Sammy isn’t food motivated and is quite picky, but he’ll never say no to a beef gully stick. Toys are still a new concept for him, but he loves lounging on the deck with the resident pets. Sammy is best suited for a calm home—he’s great with cats and does well with tiny dogs, though he can play a bit rough due to his size. He prefers older, considerate children and isn’t comfortable with sudden movements or being crated. He does well when left out for short periods and hasn’t caused any trouble in his foster home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who values routine, enjoys peaceful walks, and will quietly be your shadow, Sammy might be your perfect match. He’s ready to find his person—could that be you? Apply to meet Sammy and see if you’re the one he chooses next. ---------- WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota.  Foster Home Pets: Meet & greets are scheduled after an approved adoption application Cats at The PURRfect Match Adoption Center (Andover, MN): Some cats may be available to meet during open hours Please visit our website for the most accurate information on this pet and next steps.
