Story
Meet our sweet Fergus! He is an adorable 16 lb, 7 month old, male purebred Shiba Inu. He and his littermates came to our rescue after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter by a puppy mill. Although he is still a bit timid with humans due to a lack of proper socialization, he is getting better each day and you can see his strong desire to be loved. He will let you pick him up and cuddle him. Fergus is now housebroken, sleeps all night in his crate, and is a fairly quiet boy. He loves toys and playing in the fenced in yard with his furry foster siblings. Once Fergus learns to trust you and is comfortable, he will make a wonderful companion! We will REQUIRE a FENCE and at least ONE RESIDENT DOG in the adopter’s home, so that he can continue to gain confidence and thrive. Older children in the home are fine and he really seems to enjoy them actually, but a family without toddlers is preferred. Cat friendly. Fergus is neutered, up to date on vetting and vaccines, microchipped, and ready to meet his forever family! His adoption donation fee is $375.   To apply for Fergus, please do so directly in the drop-down menu on our website at: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! May 14, 2024, 3:07 am

Story
Meet our darling Finnegan, aka Finn! He’s a sweet 16 lb, 7 month old, male purebred Shiba Inu. He and his littermates came to our rescue after being surrendered to an overcrowded shelter by a puppy mill. Finn is loving his time with his foster family and although he is timid with humans yet, he is being socialized and loves playing and spending time with the resident dogs and toys. He’s quickly learning about life as a properly spoiled companion. He’s an amazing pup and once he learns to really trust you, you will have a fantastic companion for life. Finn is now housebroken and sleeps through the night. He absolutely loves the company of other dogs and is learning confidence from them. We will REQUIRE a FENCE and at least ONE RESIDENT DOG in the adopter’s home, so that he can continue to gain confidence and thrive. Older children in the home are fine and he really seems to enjoy them actually, but a family without toddlers is preferred. Cat friendly. Finn is neutered, up to date on vetting and vaccines, microchipped, and ready to meet his forever family! Story
Toph is a gorgeous purebred Shiba Inu puppy (b. 02/05/2024) who is looking for her forever home. She is great with everyone - cats, dogs, and people of all ages! Toph loves exploring on walks, learning new tricks, and snuggling up with her people. Toph may be young, but she is already growing into a charming, confident dog. Apply to adopt her today! The suggested adoption donation for Toph is $650, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
