Story
She may start out a little shy… but give her a minute and she’ll absolutely steal your heart especially with those tall, expressive ears that seem to perk up just for you. This sweet girl blooms right before your eyes. Don’t miss her in action! Check out her adoption video below to see her sweet personality (and those adorable ears) for yourself. https://youtu.be/JFoWmQ1wbF8 This girl is a soft, observant sweetheart who truly bonds with her people. She takes a moment to take everything in, and once she feels comfortable, she opens up in the most beautiful way. She’s more of a “quietly hang out with my humans” kind of pup than an over the top wild child. Her thoughtful, independent spirit makes earning her trust feel extra special and once you have it, you’ll see her affectionate, wiggly side shine. We suspect Winter Winnie may be a Shiba but as with any rescue, that’s always a best guess! She’s a great size: not tiny, not huge just right. Big enough to feel sturdy and athletic, but compact enough to fit comfortably into everyday life. A medium girl with an even bigger heart. Her ears make her look extra expressive, too. When she’s curious, they probably stand even taller. When she’s happy, you can just imagine them doing that tiny little perk and tilt move that melts hearts instantly. They add so much personality to her face, confident, bright, and just a little bit goofy in the cutest way. Since Winter Winnie is currently thriving in a foster home, we’ve already seen what a wonderful roommate she is. She is fully house and potty trained, making her a reliable and easy companion indoors. She is also crate trained and treats her space as a quiet sanctuary where she can relax calmly while you’re away. Living in a foster setting has given her a great head start, and she’s ready to bring all those expert-level snuggle skills and perfect house-guest manners straight to her forever family. When it comes to other pups, she is a social girl with a gentle soul. Winter likes to take a moment to read the room. A low to medium energy companion who gives her a little time to settle in would be her absolute dream come true. Living with a foster has given her a wonderful head start, and she’s ready to bring those expert level snuggle skills wherever she goes. She’s also perfectly happy to be your one and only. She has more than enough love to fill a home all by herself! Winter Winnie has shown very promising signs when it comes to cats! She was calm, respectful, and comfortably shared space with them. While her interactions have been very positive, a sleepover with a kitty roommate would be needed to officially confirm her cat friendly status. She is a versatile girl who is apartment ready! While she’d certainly enjoy a backyard of her own for some sniffing and sunbathing. Winter is just as happy with a cozy indoor life and some nice neighborhood strolls. She’s looking for a calm, patient home that will celebrate her small wins. Whether she’s leaning in for pets or showing off her expert level snuggle skills, she’s ready to bring those perfect house guest manners straight to her forever family. She’s a sensitive soul with a playful side just waiting to fully shine. The kind of dog who bonds deeply, looks to you for reassurance, and then surprises you with her joyful wiggles once she feels safe. Story
Remi is Sponsored by Country Kitty KondoMeet Remi 💕Remi is a pocket-sized female Shiba Inu with a heart just as sweet as her fox-like face. True to her Shiba Inu roots, this little lady has that classic cat-like personality—independent, observant, and just a tiny bit sassy in the most adorable way.She can be a little shy when meeting new people, preferring to take her time to assess the situation (a true Shiba trait!). But once she warms up, Remi blossoms into a friendly, loyal companion who will happily stay by your side and shower you with quiet affection. Earn her trust, and you’ll have a devoted best friend for life.Cute as a button and small enough to fit perfectly in your lap, Remi is the perfect mix of dainty and spirited. She enjoys cozy spots, gentle attention, and being near her favorite humans. She would do best in a patient home that understands her breed’s independent streak and will let her come out of her shell at her own pace.If you’re looking for a charming little shadow with a big personality packed into a tiny body, Remi just might be your girl. 🐾If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
