Story
Fuji is a gorgeous Shih Tzu, about 8 1/2 years old and 15 pounds. Despite his adorable looks, Fuji has been waiting for his angel for a very long time. He needs a single person, with no other pets, who is extra kind, patient, and compassionate, who truly wants to give a special boy a chance, and doesn't mind when he occasionally misbehaves. For the most part, Fuji is a wonderful boy who loves to hang out with people, receive affection and belly rubs, and go for walks. On a rare occasion, something sets him off and he bites. This has occurred when he was in a home with 2 people, and it's possible that he was being protective of his favorite person, although we cannot know for sure. At the rescue, when with one person, Fuji is friendly, nice, and delightful to be with. He certainly deserves a chance at a happy life, and we believe this is a definite possibility with the right person. Story
Marnie is a bright, happy little Shih Tzu girl. She is about 4 years old and 12 pounds. Marnie loves to be with people and is very sweet and friendly. She enjoys snuggling and affection, but also likes to romp around in the yard and go for leash walks. This little cutie has an adorable, playful side and enjoys toys and silly hand games.    Marnie has been at the rescue for over one year. She has adjusted nicely to being around the other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard with her new pals. Marnie’s tongue sticks out for no fault of her own, as she was born with a small jawbone. She is a healthy, delightful, young girl, but she keeps getting passed by for our more “perfect “ looking Shih Tzus. Please give this wonderful girl a chance to share her love and bring her happy ways into your home.   It’s just not right that these absolutely wonderful ladies have been at the rescue for many, many years, most of their lives. Sasha and Scarlett are certainly a unique pair, with their awesome, one of a kind looks, matched by their big, fun, personalities. They are very friendly, sweet, happy girls, with lots of energy, who love to be with people. They enjoy cuddly lap time, lots of affection, leash walks, romping on the yard, belly rubs for Scarlett, and a little toy playing for Sasha.  They are easy to walk together on leashes, and they get along with other dogs.             Sasha (brown and grey, about 11 years old) is the mother of Scarlett (black and white, about 10 years old), both Shih Tzu/Terrier mixes. They are currently somewhat overweight, but should be at proper weight about 14 pounds for Sasha, and 17 pounds for Scarlett. They have been bypassed year after year for our more classic Shih Tzus. It’s hard enough to adopt pairs, especially mixes, but Sasha and Scarlett have a special bond, and we will keep them together for their senior years ahead. If you believe you are the special person they have been waiting for, please put in an application today.
