Story
Please contact Sue Caley (suec@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.SISSY     Female Weight: 8.6 lbs Best guess for age: 14 years as of September 2023 Best guess for breed: Shih tzu and Yorkie mix   It can take a lifetime of experience to teach people what the most essential - and best - things in life are. Good food. A comfortable place to rest. Smelling the flowers, savoring the feel of a warm sunbeam. And, above all, being with loved ones.   Or it can take a Sissy.   Sissy is content with the simple pleasures of life. She loves relaxing on her bed and will just enjoy her time there, going to her water bowl when she gets thirsty. She enjoys cuddling sessions. She relishes her rides in a stroller on warm days, sniffing the breeze. When her foster family goes on a road trip, she enjoys the car ride; she is an excellent traveler. When the four dogs in her foster home are playing around her, she likes just being near them. And oh yes, she loves her meals and her treats!   She communicates well with her humans. If she needs something - food, a water bowl refill, to go out for potty - she barks. She will also signal if she needs something during a car ride.    This sweet, calm, laid back girl experiences life with her nose and her heart. She is mostly blind and deaf. Her fosters say she has mapped her areas in their home and has her favorite spot there.    Because she is not able to see or hear when her humans are not around to respond to her barking cues, she would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. Sissy has so much to offer in exchange. Love. Cuddles. And reminders of what is truly important. Will she be your reminder? Will you be her soft landing?   Gets Along With:   Sissy currently lives with dogs and does well. She hasn't been seen with cats. Because children might not remember to be calm around Sissy, we do not recommend her for a home with kids under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster   Special adoption considerations:  Sissy experiences the world with her nose and her heart. She is mostly blind and deaf.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Chulo is a patient, tan and white boy, who needs some loving care. He knows he's special, like many little dogs do, and he's looking for the special owner who will also recognize it. Recently, Chulo, who is about 3, has been neglected. He was severely matted and in terrible pain. His new owners will need to take him to a professional dog groomer frequently to keep his fur in top shape. A dog likes to look and feel good of course. He is sweet, loving and social! He wants you to know that he's healing up and is ready to get on with living his best life. He knows it's as near as you!

BJ is a year old shih-tzu - maltese mix looking for a new home due to some health issues of mine. BJ LOVES to cuddle with his people and is very calm tempered. He would make a great companion for any adult, older adult, or family. He loves children, and loves playing with other dogs. He has not met any cats really. Story
You know they say GOOD THINGS come in two’s…well this pair of beautiful senior girls are absolutely the definition of that “saying”.  Pulled from a poor home with no running water nor electricity, Hazel and Sassy are at your beck and call.  This perfect little dynamic duo are 10 pounds or less, loving, great on the leash and they are joined for life in a forever bond.  They are the best little girls who are said to be Shih Tzu mixes and Sassy is about 5 years and Hazel is around 9-10 years old.  Sassy is the white and red girl and Hazel is the darker brindle girl with one eye.  They are healthy and completely vetted with bloodwork, all shots done, fecal and giardia test done, microchipped, spayed, heartworm test done and full exam.  They are quiet, house trained and they are the easiest little ladies you will ever meet.  They are NOT runners and they are just looking for a quiet, calm, content home to lay their head for the rest of their life. They are the REAL DYNAMIC DUO DEAL!   Contact us at Critter Cavalry Rescue at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 27, 2024, 10:00 pm
