Story
My name is Journey and I am a little Princess in training and was born 9/26/20 and I currently weigh a tiny 8.75 pounds.  I was owned by someone in the military and a kind lady/friend offered to hold me while her owner was deployed.  But at the end of the year of deployment, my mom did not want me back and so my caregiver for the past year and some months total is asking Critter cavalry Rescue to help find me a great home.  She is busy working as a single parent and taking care of her children and two other dogs.  I am a sweet girl with all sorts of nice manners and great sweaters that I plan to bring with me when I adopt a new family.  In these pics you will see me with long fur and currently I have the short haircut for Summer. I am housebroken, a cuddle bug and a pure Shih Tzu that will need trims and grooming every 2-3 months.  I like to always look my BEST!  I can use a crate or not use a crate.   I am a very good girl who gets along with children, other dogs and if you have a cat, I am sure they would be part of my ring of friendships in the animal world.  Hey I am YOUNG…. and if you are pretty young yourself then maybe we could be BFF.   Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue please.   ccrnewengland@gmail.com  I am ready and willing to bring my pretty little self and all my clothes to make my way to you and your nice warm lap.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 28, 2024, 12:37 pm

Story
Mimisiku (Mimi for short) is a sweet 7 year old Shih Tzu mix that is in need of a permanent home. She's not aggressive in any way around children but isn't a fan of the younger ones. She's not much of a barker however she doesn't care for sharing your attention and will be very vocal about it! She likes long walks but will sucker you into carrying her ( she's very dramatic) and while she can be very playful she isn't big on toys or bones. She loves bite sized chewy snacks, is very affectionate and welcomes lots of belly rubs and cuddles.

Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Please contact Sue Caley (suec@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.SISSY     Female Weight: 8.6 lbs Best guess for age: 14 years as of September 2023 Best guess for breed: Shih tzu and Yorkie mix   It can take a lifetime of experience to teach people what the most essential - and best - things in life are. Good food. A comfortable place to rest. Smelling the flowers, savoring the feel of a warm sunbeam. And, above all, being with loved ones.   Or it can take a Sissy.   Sissy is content with the simple pleasures of life. She loves relaxing on her bed and will just enjoy her time there, going to her water bowl when she gets thirsty. She enjoys cuddling sessions. She relishes her rides in a stroller on warm days, sniffing the breeze. When her foster family goes on a road trip, she enjoys the car ride; she is an excellent traveler. When the four dogs in her foster home are playing around her, she likes just being near them. And oh yes, she loves her meals and her treats!   She communicates well with her humans. If she needs something - food, a water bowl refill, to go out for potty - she barks. She will also signal if she needs something during a car ride.    This sweet, calm, laid back girl experiences life with her nose and her heart. She is mostly blind and deaf. Her fosters say she has mapped her areas in their home and has her favorite spot there.    Because she is not able to see or hear when her humans are not around to respond to her barking cues, she would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day. Sissy has so much to offer in exchange. Love. Cuddles. And reminders of what is truly important. Will she be your reminder? Will you be her soft landing?   Gets Along With:   Sissy currently lives with dogs and does well. She hasn't been seen with cats. Because children might not remember to be calm around Sissy, we do not recommend her for a home with kids under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster   Special adoption considerations:  Sissy experiences the world with her nose and her heart. She is mostly blind and deaf.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
