Story
Meet Jack Frost Don’t let the frosty name fool you — Jack Frost is pure warmth. At 13 years young, this sweet Shih Tzu gentleman has perfected the art of companionship. His favorite place in the whole world? Curled up next to you (or better yet, in your lap), soaking up snuggles and handing out soft little tail wags like they’re gifts. Jack isn’t just a dog — he’s a cozy, living, breathing best friend. He loves the simple things in life: leisurely walks around the neighborhood, sunny nap spots, gentle belly rubs, and being close to his people. Wherever you are, that’s exactly where Jack wants to be. Jack does have dry eyes that require daily drops, but don’t worry — he takes them like an absolute champ. No fuss, no drama, just one more reason he’s such an easy, lovable guy to care for. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys their company, though when it comes to mealtime, he politely prefers his food to himself (and honestly, who can blame a distinguished gentleman for wanting to savor dinner in peace?). Jack Frost may be a senior, but his heart is full of love and his spirit is as sweet as ever. He’s past the puppy chaos and fully committed to the good life: cuddles, companionship, and quiet moments with his favorite human. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow, a professional snuggler, and a gentle soul to warm your days, Jack Frost is ready to melt your heart. Come meet him — he’s saving a spot right next to you. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $200 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2650952##

Story
PLEASE READ THE ANIMAL’S PROFILE AND ALL NOTES BELOW BEFORE APPLYING!   Taz is a 4-year-old, 8 lb little guy who was transferred to PRC from another shelter due to concerns with handling and stress. Despite everything he’s been through, when he’s given time, space, patience, and trust, Taz shows who he truly is — a sweet, playful, affectionate boy with a heart that wants to connect. When he feels safe, Taz: Wags his tail Does zoomies Rolls on his back Solicits gentle attention Play bows Settles calmly near people he trusts He gently paws for comfort, quietly whimpers for reassurance, and truly wants to bond. But life hasn’t always been kind to him. Taz struggles when he feels pressured, restrained, or overwhelmed. Leashing and certain kinds of touch are still hard for him, and when he gets scared, he may react defensively to protect himself. With calm, low-pressure handling, predictable routines, and understanding — he does beautifully. He even tolerated sedation for grooming with no reaction when handled correctly. Taz doesn’t need punishment. Taz doesn’t need someone to “fix” him. Taz needs someone to understand him. He needs an adopter who: Is experienced with behaviorally sensitive dogs Can provide a quiet, decompression-focused environment Can go slow and let him build trust at his pace Is willing to work with behavior guidance and support Taz needs us now more than ever. He deserves safety. He deserves kindness. He deserves a chance. If you believe in giving dogs like Taz the love and patience they’ve always deserved, please reach out. He is counting on us. Adoption FEE: $500 which includes his neuter, microchip, and vaccines. It is also a donation to go directly back to us to help us continue to rescue more animals. A Mercy Full Project (MFP) Adoption Application MUST BE COMPLETED in order for you to be considered as a potential adopter. By filling out the MFP Adoption Application you agree and understand that ADOPTION IS NOT GUARANTEED. We are not first come, first served and submitting an application does NOT guarantee adoption. You will be contacted by an Adoption Coordinator once your application has gone through the approval process. Please ONLY APPLY IF you are ready to commit to adoption. TO ADOPT, APPLY ONLINE:  www.mercyfullprojects.org PLEASE NOTE: We do our best to supply all known information about each animal in their profile. If you have additional questions, you may send an inquiry email to adopt@mercyfullprojects.org to be answered at our earliest convenience.
