Gizmo. 6 years old. He needs someone that can offer him a safe place to decompress. We are not in a position to take him but we desperately want to facilitate his surrender to a reputable rescue or adoptive mom. He is a shih tzu and wire hair terrier cross. It prefers women because he has lived for a while with a man that just doesn't have the patience for him. He loves his mama and is fiercely protective of her. He has lived alongside of her cats and other dogs without problem. We are told that he is up to date on shots and he is neutered. He has some behavioral concerns so the local shelters they have checked with will not intake him. He does not have a bite history but he would not be good around children. He will require some rehabilitation (socially and emotionally) but we are hopeful the right person will be able to teach him trust the world again. He is located in Ocala Florida and this is what we would consider an urgent case. Owners have been trying to rehome him for quite some time and medical emergency (theirs) is creating an urgency that I greater than ever before. ##2764244##
