Two eight-year-old Shih Tzu boys needing their forever home! We adopted both in October 2025 when their original owners passed away. We believed it would be a perfect fit for our family since we had just lost a beloved fur baby in the summer of 2025. We have loved and cared for these boys to the best of our ability - but life has a way of not going as planned. The dynamic between the 2 boys and a female Shih Tzu already in our home is not working well and both boys were accustomed to more attention than we can give as we work outside the home for 8-10 hour days Monday - Friday. Both dogs need to stay together - they have been together since they were weeks old. One of them is definitely the more mature and level-headed one and the other one is very whimsical and playful - both love to be very close to their humans and they love to play with balls and toys. They need a loving home with a lot of human connection and they will probably do better in a home without other animals.

Ginge is being fostered in AL. Ginge is a little girl with a bubbly personality. She loves to play with her toys and wants to play with other dogs, but is a little unsure. Ginge has a lot of energy and will play as long as you play with her. Then she’ll cuddle. Ginge is a social butterfly who loves hanging out with new people, but is still learning that people aren’t chew toys. She also will put anything in her mouth as she’s exploring so you have to watch her closely. Ginge has juvenile glaucoma and is totally blind. The good news is that her glaucoma is well controlled by eye drops given twice daily. Ginge eats well and comes running if she hears a bag rattle in the kitchen. She sleeps through the night in her crate. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
