Story
Meet Benji, a 16-year-old Shih Tzu mix who weighs about 13 pounds and is equal parts gentle soul and devoted sidekick. He’s a friendly, outgoing, and adaptable little guy who finds his greatest joy in being close to his person. Whether he’s following you from room to room, curling up beside you for a nap, or soaking up all the pets you’re willing to give, Benji is happiest when he’s near his people. He enjoys short walks and spending time outside, though he prefers to keep things brief when the weather is too hot or too cold. He does well in his crate but has also earned the privilege of sleeping loose in the home. Benji does wear a belly band to help prevent marking indoors. He has done well with everyone he’s met, though he hasn’t been around children in our care. Benji also enjoys car rides and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, low-key buddy. Benji shares a special bond with his brother, Clark, and the two are looking for a home where they can stay together. Their connection is heartwarming, and they truly thrive with each other by their side. Benji brings a calm, cuddly presence, while Clark adds a bit of playful energy to the mix. Their combined adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 rabies transfer fee for McLean County residents. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Meet Odie! 🐾 Looking for a chill companion with a fun, spirited personality? Odie is a sweet, resilient gent with a heart of gold, a love for car rides, and a cute-as-a-button signature trot! The Odie Checklist: • Personality: Laid-back, curious, and sweet with a fun, feisty, playful personality that is starting to bloom. • Manners: Fully potty trained, crate trained, and gets along great with dogs and kids! • Favorite Things: Going for rides in the car, relaxing by your side, and exploring around the house. • Vibe: A total energy-matcher. He’s happy to lounge, but always up for adventure. Odie has overcome a lot of change recently with absolute grace. Because he gets a little enthusiastic when he plays, he’d do best in a home with humans who appreciate his fun-loving spirit but know how to guide him towards gentle playing. Give this sweet guy the happy home he deserves — apply to adopt Odie today! Story
Knox is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart as big as...well, the few extra pounds he's currently carrying. At about 18 pounds, this handsome gentleman could benefit from slimming down a bit, but that just means there's more of him to love while he starts his healthier journey. After spending what may have been his entire life with his best friend, Kenzie, Knox recently lost the only home he had ever known. Through all of life's changes, one thing has remained constant: you'll almost always find him snuggled up beside Kenzie. Whether they're sharing a cozy bed or quietly keeping each other company, these two find comfort in being together. Knox is ready to trade uncertainty for a loving family who will cherish both him and his tiny sidekick. Because of the close bond they've shared for so many years, we're looking for a home that will welcome Knox and Kenzie together. If your home could use twice the companionship, twice the cuddles, and two grateful little souls, Knox and Kenzie are ready to meet you. Their combined minimum adoption fee is $500, plus a $15 fee per dog for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Kenzie is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu who proves that the best things really do come in small packages. Weighing just 9 pounds, she's a tiny little lady with an even bigger heart. Life recently turned upside down for Kenzie after she lost the only home she'd ever known. Thankfully, she hasn't had to face those changes alone. Her lifelong companion, Knox, has been right by her side every step of the way. The two share a kennel, nap curled up together, and bring each other comfort as they adjust to all the new sights and sounds around them. Kenzie is looking for a family that understands some friendships are simply too special to separate. She and Knox have spent years choosing each other every single day, and we'd love to see them continue that journey together in a forever home. If you have room in your heart for two sweet Shih Tzus who have mastered the art of companionship, Kenzie and Knox are ready to fill your home with quiet love and cozy cuddles. Thier combined minimum adoption fee is $500, plus a $15 fee per dog for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
