Story
Boober is a sweet thirteen-year-old Shih Tzu, weighing in at almost 13 pounds. This little friend deserves a quiet, loving, home that can provide care and comfort. Boober will certainly return the favor. Medical/behavioral needs: We’re looking for a good family to foster-to-adopt Boober on his road to recovery. Due to past neglect, Boober has medical issues being actively resolved. We are addressing ear infections that will require vet visits. Boober also has a condition known as Dry Eye, common to the Shih Tzu breed. His eyes will require daily wetting drops for the remainder of his life. During the foster-to-adopt process, Indigo’s Rescue Ranch will pay for his medical care. When these issues are resolved, his foster family or person can decide if they would like to move ahead with adopting him into his forever home! Good with dogs? Boober seems very interested in other dogs. He may enjoy the company of another gentle canine friend. Good with cats? He currently is living with cats who are pretty sassy and he pushes them around demanding their cat food which he really enjoys. As long as your cats wouldn’t eat him for that, he’s fine with cats. Good with kids? We don’t know much about Boober with children but we think he would be okay with older kids who understand that small senior dogs enjoy gentle interaction. Soft petting, soft words, and soft treats are always nice to get from new friends! Energy level: Boober is very easy going and likes to take a lot of naps. He enjoys short, leisurely strolls. Playtime for Boober might include a nice belly rub from his human and soft treats! Is he house trained? While he’s not perfect, he’s very adaptable. He has never lived in a home where someone paid much attention to him. He is definitely teachable and could be confined to a smaller space in the house until he is better trained. Animal Characteristics: Boober is a messy eater! We haven’t found a kibble that is his favorite yet. As we mentioned, he seems to like the cat food better but a little experimentation will discover his dream dish!

Story
Meet Bridget 💕 Bridget is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu who has already lived through more than any little dog ever should. She was found in a rundown home, extremely matted and neglected, until a kind-hearted woman stepped in and convinced her owner to surrender her so she could finally get the help she needed. Bridget was groomed, vetted, and began learning what love and comfort feel like. Just four short months later, that same wonderful woman unexpectedly passed away — and Bridget once again found herself needing rescue. Bridget does have some hearing and vision impairment, but she is otherwise healthy and fully vetted. She’s currently settling in, learning her new surroundings, and doing what she does best: enjoying long, peaceful naps on soft beds. She isn’t looking for chaos or constant activity — just a safe, permanent place to rest, be loved, and feel secure. Small dogs like Bridget can easily live to be 15 years old, which means she still has many years of companionship, quiet moments, and gentle love to give. If you have a calm home, a cozy bed, and a heart open to giving a senior dog the happy ending she deserves, Bridget may be your perfect match. ✨ Can you be Bridget’s final landing spot? ✨

Story
Posted 6/30/2025 Please read the entire description before contacting us. Thank you so much! Ace was found as a stray near a vet office. No one claimed him and so one of the veterinarians decided to take him home. Unfortunately Ace is reactive with most members of the family and it was deceided that he would be better off in a household with no children. We don't know what happened to this pup. He is definitely fearful and standoffish with people he does not know. He does bite when you try to trim the hair in his face and snaps when he feels threatened. It is possible that he had a bad experiencey while he was groomed as he freaks out and bites when you try to put a muzzle on. Ace has to be fully sedated at a vet office to be groomed. We believe that with the right human who is patient and willing to work with him for a period of time, Ace's behavior can improve significantly. He most likely will have to always be sedated for grooming though. Ace is about 2 years old, vaccinated, neutered, tested for heartworm and he is on heartworm/flea prevention. He is sweet but fearful and needs to be approached carefully. He takes a while to warm up. He is house broken and very good in the car. He also walks well on a leasd. For Ace we are looking for people who understand his behavior and who are willing to work with him on losing his fear and become a happy dog. For Ace we are looking for need a calm and quiet home with a securely fenced in yard, no children at all. Ace generally gets along with other dogs if they are little. It would be best though if he could be an only pet. If you are up to the challenge and interested in adopting Ace please fill out an adoption application on our web site. Email us if you have any questions or if you don't hear from us within 48 hours of sending an adoption application.
