Story
Meet Samson! Samson is an adorable 4-year-old male Shih Tzu weighing in at a perfect 15 lbs of fluff and charm. He’s a gentle little guy who gets along well with other animals. He needs to have special diet food for the rest of his life. The recommended food is: Royal Canin Urinary SO. Samson does get a bit anxious, and he likes to chew on his blanket, beds, or toys for comfort-it's his version of a stress ball! No soft toys due to eating them. Samson is very treat-motivated (he’ll do just about anything for a snack!) and prefers not to be left alone for long periods. He loves being close to his people and thrives on companionship. Samson is looking for a home with current or previous dog experience. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal little buddy with a big heart, Samson might just be your perfect match. ✨ Good with kids, Good with Adults, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Up to Date on rabies, House & Crate trained. Anxious at groomer. Chewer.

Story
Meet Oreo Fury – Our Distinguished Gentleman Adventurer At 9 years young, Oreo Fury has lived a life worthy of his dramatic name. Like the famous stallion “Fury” from the 1950s TV show, this Oreo spent the last four years mostly outdoors, fending for himself and growing quite the “wild hair” look. Underneath all that, though, was a handsome, gentle soul just waiting to shine. After a much-needed grooming, Oreo Fury moved into a foster home with three other dogs, one of them also named Oreo! The adjustment from living outside on his own to sharing humans, couches, and toys with three resident pups was understandably a little bumpy at first. But with time, patience, and love, Oreo has blossomed into a dashing, distinguished gentleman who quietly melts hearts wherever he goes. Personality & Home Life  Lives peacefully with three female dogs in his foster home  Slowly but surely joining in playtime and choosing his favorite squeaky toys  LOVES his blanket and will find it wherever you lay it for nap time  Enjoys running at the dog park and playing with similar-sized dogs  Middle-aged vibe: happy to play, but also very content to snooze  Sleeps on the king-sized bed with the rest of the pack—he’s a cuddle pro Oreo is a polite, non-pushy eater. He and his foster sisters are “grazers” and share the food area calmly, giving each other space and time. Training & House Manners Oreo came to us used to doing his business wherever he pleased outside, so housetraining was a concept, he’s had to relearn. He’s now learned to:  Wait to potty outside  Use the pet door to access the fenced yard  Come back in like a pro He still benefits from routine and supervision in a new home, but he’s made great progress and wants to please. Oreo was crated only for his first car ride home and first overnight. He tolerated it but was anxious and unable to fully relax, likely due to his years of outdoor living. Since then, he has done well uncrated in his foster home. Other Pets Oreo has reportedly done well with cats in the past, but his foster home does not have cats, so this has not been confirmed. Based on his gentle, easygoing demeanor, we feel he could do well with other animals given proper introductions.  Enjoys the company of similar-sized dogs  Has met male dogs at the dog park, including some larger ones, with no issues  We recommend pairing him with similar-sized dogs just to be safe Oreo could be happy as an only dog, especially with humans who are home often, but he’s also used to having dog friends around. Health & Adoption Status  Approximately 9 years old  Neutered  Awaiting final clearance from his intake exam; once cleared, he will be ready for adoption Oreo Fury may not have a long resume of commands (“he has a few, but then again, too few to mention…”), but what he does have is a big heart, a calm, gentle spirit, and a readiness to finally live his best life—this time, surrounded by comfort, kindness, and love. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, soulful companion who’s done with chaos and ready for cozy, Oreo Fury might just be your perfect match. Social Media Caption (short & catchy): Meet Oreo Fury, our 9-year-old distinguished gentleman who spent years living outdoors and is now LOVING the good life indoors. He’s:  Great with similar-sized dogs  A pro napper with a favorite blanket  Learning house training and using a pet door  Gentle, easygoing, and loves the dog park Neutered and awaiting final vet clearance, he’ll soon be ready to go home. If you’ve got a spot on your couch (and maybe your bed!) for a sweet, middle-aged cuddle buddy, ask us about Oreo Fury today!
