Meet DeDe, our charming 7-8 year old Shih Tzu lady! She's just joined our family and is currently adjusting to her new environment. While she's still in the decompression phase, DeDe is incredibly sweet and adores affection.
This lovely girl hasn't had much training in the past, so the crate and leash are still unfamiliar to her. However, with plenty of positive reinforcement and a little patience from her human, she's making great progress! Despite being a bit fearful of new situations, DeDe is eager to please and has a gentle nature.
DeDe tends to have a low energy level, making her the ideal couch potato companion once she feels safe and settled in her new home. Although she may need to shed a few pounds to get back to her best shape, she's motivated and ready to start her wellness journey!
Coming from a household with lots of little dogs, DeDe should do well with another balanced canine companion. Alternatively, she'll thrive as an only dog, as long as she receives her daily walks for some light exercise. ‍ She doesn't require a ton of activity, so DeDe would make the perfect companion for a quiet home environment or a retired owner seeking a furry friend.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
