Story
Peppa is a 6 ½ year old Shih Tzu/Pomeranian mix weighing approximately 18 lbs. Peppa was the dear companion and best friend of an elderly lady for the last 6 years. Unfortunately, she passed away recently. Peppa is a very sweet and loving little guy. He is shy and a little submissive at first but will quickly become your best buddy and companion.….loves snuggles and sitting as close as possible to you on the couch. He likes to be with “his person “ and will follow you around and want to be with you all the time. He has a good appetite, likes to sleep on a dog bed, couch or in bed with owner. He does great with other dogs and cats and loves car rides. He does okay on a leash but could use a little more training. He has been neutered, has no medical issues but will need to be updated on his shots. Peppa has not been around many small kids in his life, but he is not an aggressive dog. He rarely barks at things and is a very calm pup.

Story
Meet Laylanie !! We are not sure what to think of this dog. She must have a secret fountain of youth because nothing about her matches the age her previous owner swears she is.... So when you read her post please keep in mind that this dog is as healthy as, and acts like, a 7yr old dog. We continue to wonder if the age is wrong. Laylanie is supposed to be a 14 year old female Shih Tzu mix. She currently weights 7.8 pounds and is full grown. She will be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines as part of her adoption. She is heartworm negative. She just had bloodwork done and the vet said it looked amazing. Her teeth also look good and don't currently need a dental cleaning. Overall she seems half her age in every way. You may think with the age that this dog does nothing, well you'd be wrong. She still has a very spunky side and loves to walk around on her back legs begging for food and attention. While she is not super active she definitely has personality and is ready to go wherever you are going. She loves to sleep in the bed with you, cuddle or be carried around. It’s easy to fall in love with her. She is super sweet and loves everyone. She is also doing really well with her house manners. Laylanie has been great with all other dogs of all sizes. She loves both big and small dogs. She can hold her own despite her size. She will snap at dogs that are to pushy with her to let them know her boundaries but otherwise she is happy with all the doggie friends. She is currently fostered with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages at her foster home. We aren't sure how she would do with cats but likely fine. She has so far loved all the kids she has met. Kids just need to be old enough to understand not to treat her like a toy or hurt her as she is small. Laylanie is doing great with all her home manners. She is potty trained when taken out frequently and will sleep in your bed all night without having to go out. She is a bit whiny when crated if she can see you but does well otherwise. She is also great about just being left out in the home. She does very well on car rides. She does fine with leash walking but she also likes to just be carried. She really is well behaved and easy to have around. She has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. She has a fairly low energy level. She is mostly happy just to sit around with you. She does have little bursts of excited energy where she wants to play or run around. After that she is back to cuddling again. So overall she's a wonderful and easy going dog. Her age is still up for debate in our eyes. Whatever age she is, we think she has a lot more life left to live. She is very healthy, happy and eager to find a new home to call her own. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com directly with questions or to get an application.
