Story
T-Bone came to us when his family could no longer care for him. He is estimated around 9 years old and is approximately 12 lbs. He is doing well with the potty routine in his foster home - going outside when his foster dad is home and using puppy pads when he is away at work. He enjoys his yard time and is a big fan of treats! He does have some mild food protectiveness but that is understandable given that there was not enough food at his former home. T-Bone does pretty well on a leash. He does great in a crate and ok in the car. He is timid but very affectionate once he warms up and knows you are safe. He is generally not a big barker. T-Bone is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and also had bloodwork done which looked good! Story
Squirrel and Chipmunk are two adorable, bonded chihuahua girls who came to Cherished Tails in early December from Arizona Humane where they were at risk of euthanasia for medical reasons. They have been vetted and both have had surgery to remove mammary tumors and get dentals. Both are healing well and ready to start looking for their forever home. Squirrel is a tiny 5.5-lb cream-colored nugget who loves to cuddle with Chipmunk or on your lap. She burrows under the covers at night and sleeps right by your side. She is a good little watch dog and will let you know when the Amazon man comes but is not overly vocal. Squirrel doesn't love walking on leash and prefers to be carried. She is good with people and other small dogs and has a waggy tail. She is just the sweetest little dog! Chipmunk is a 10-lb golden-red colored mix who loves to give kisses and cuddle with Squirrel. She is quieter than Squirrel and does walk on a leash but prefers to be a couch potato. She is gentle and good with kids and other people of all ages. She is also a cuddler in bed and dives right under the covers where she sleeps peacefully all night. She is a delight! Both of these bonded girls are estimated to be 8-10 years old, are good with other small dogs and with older, gentle children. They have been perfectly house-trained in their foster home. Their foster parents said that they have been two of the easiest dogs ever! They deserve a special home where they will be treasured. Story
Ozzy came to us from CA where he was at risk due to some pretty typical old man issues. He has really blossomed in his foster home and is now feeling and looking great. He is around 11 years old and about 13 lbs and is a really nice boy. He got a dental when he was neutered and his bloodwork came back with no concerns. Ozzy is good about going potty outside with regular opportunities. He loves hanging out in the yard when the weather is nice and loves the other dogs he lives with once he gets to know them (even tries to play!!). He does well on a leash and walks right by other dogs no fuss or barking. He is fine in a crate though has good house manners. Because he loves his yard time he would likely be best in a home with at least a small fenced yard. Ozzy was initially very standoffish but soon warms up and starts connecting. His level of intimacy and preference for pets and cuddles is more akin to a cats though; he will come up and solicit pets when he is in the mood but often chooses a few feet of distance. If you ever wanted a cat in dog form or a dog that isn't 'too needy' this one is the right pick for you!! Ozzy does prefer females or men that are not too big and imposing, and his innate skittishness and appreciation of space means kids would not be a good match. Ozzy loves to nap and food is his love language. Ozzy will take time a patience to adapt to a new home Ozzy does have some resource guarding with food so just needs to be fed alone.
