Story
T-Bone came to us when his family could no longer care for him. He is estimated around 9 years old and is approximately 12 lbs. He is doing well with the potty routine in his foster home - going outside when his foster dad is home and using puppy pads when he is away at work. He enjoys his yard time and is a big fan of treats! He does have some mild food protectiveness but that is understandable given that there was not enough food at his former home. T-Bone does pretty well on a leash. He does great in a crate and ok in the car. He is timid but very affectionate once he warms up and knows you are safe. He is generally not a big barker. T-Bone is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and also had bloodwork done which looked good! Story
Annika came to us about 6 months ago from Yuma. She was VERY shy and has made some progress in foster but is still going to require patience and work in her forever home. She is still unsure of the leash and anxious about new situations. She is very devoted to her foster mom, has learned the joys of living indoors and is pretty well housebroken. She does well in a crate but is generally not destructive. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages and also has no issues with cats, and would likely be best in a home with other animals. Annika is around 2.5 years old and about 15 lbs. She is spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped and has no health concerns. She has not shown too much interest in toys (yet) and seems to thrive on routines. Meet and greets will need to be at her foster home (midtown Tucson). If you are interested in meeting Annika submit the application HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application

Story
Corey came to us from Yuma and is extremely shy and skittish so will need a patient adopter. She would be best as a home to home adoption so meet and greets will take place on the far east side of Tucson at her fosters house. She is like so many chis who 'love hard' once they trust you so it the work will definitely come with rewards once she chooses you. She is food motivated so that will assist in training and developing the bond! Corey could potentially be an apartment dog as she will go on a potty pads but security would be important. She does also potty outside when she has the opportunity. She is not leash trained AT ALL so will need someone willing to work with her on that. Corey is estimated at 6 years old and is 8 lbs. She does fine in a crate, but also has not demonstrated any destructive tendencies. She enjoys other dogs and would likely need at least 1 canine friend, and she does try to engage in play with other small dogs at her foster home. Corey has no known health issues and is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you think you have the love and patience to give this scared girl a forever home submit an application HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application

Story
una came to us from AHS when she was at risk due to her dental condition and patellas. Since coming to the rescue she has lost weight and her knees are much better and not causing any problems. When the vet evaluated her she did not feel that she would need any intervention as long as she continues to lose and maintain her weight. She was able to get dental surgery with many extractions and also had the fistulas repaired. Luna is estimated as 7 years old, and is now around 14 lbs (ideal weight would be 11-12) Luna is timid but sweet and does great with other 4 legged friends. Once she gains trust she also likes to cuddle with humans. She has done well adjusting to the potty routine at her foster home and is mostly housebroken though does sometimes 'fear piddle'. She does fine in the crate though also has nice house manners. She walks pretty well on a leash and is cooperative about medication and handling. Story
Lucky is a 4-year-old male Chihuahua who was surrendered after his previous home suddenly gained seven new animals, which made him feel overwhelmed. Despite the change, he’s a cheerful little guy who shines on walks, hikes, and even road trips. Lucky gets along well with other animals and people, just in smaller, calmer groups where he feels most comfortable. He’s a devoted snuggler who loves nothing more than curling up in a warm lap. Now he’s hoping for a peaceful home where he can enjoy his adventures and his cuddles in perfect balance.

Story
Say hello to Samson, a chill little chihuahua with a big heart and even bigger couch potato energy. Samson may only have one eye, but that doesn’t stop him from living his best (and slightly wobbly) life—he might bump into a few things now and then, but it just adds to his quirky charm.Samson is quiet and content when his people are home, though he’ll happily greet you with a bark or adorable howl when you return. He’s great with kids and gets along well with small dogs, though he can get a bit growly or nippy with larger dogs—probably just his little way of saying, “Respect the space, big guy!”He prefers dry food and isn’t much of a toy guy—he’s more into soft dog beds and warm laps. While not leash-trained, he tends to stick close to your side and comes when called. He’s mostly house-trained and does well with pee pads, though he may have an “old man” accident now and then.Samson would thrive in a loving home with people who understand his gentle nature and give him the calm, affectionate life he deserves. He`s a little sensitive to sudden movements, so patience and a peaceful environment are ideal. If you`re looking for a loyal, low-key sidekick with a unique look and a heart of gold, Samson is your guy. He’s ready to bump into your heart and stay there forever. If you`d like to learn more, please email Samson`s foster parent: tiffananny81@icloud.com

Story
This beautiful boy (Benji) came to us from Yuma after being found as a stray and never claimed. He is estimated as 9-10 years old and 9-10 years. He is a sweet, quiet. friendly and mild-mannered boy. He seems to be housebroken though of course will need time to adapt to a new routine. He walks nicely on a leash and does great in a crate and seems to love car travel (quiet and attentive). He was neutered and got his infected teeth removed at the shelter but will likely need a full dental within the next 6=8 months. Also typical for his breed he does have a mild collapsing trachea. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you would like to add Benji to your family please submit the application HERE ))) https://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application
