Story
Blue is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.Blue is better as a single pet. She’s 10 so that needs to taken under consideration. The following is the Description from the Foster when Blue was at the Shelter - "Do you like being stared at? Do you wish you had a little dog that is pretty sure you make the sunrise? Meet Blue, she tries so hard to make her human happy. She truly thrives on human attention and touch. She enjoys curling up in a blanket. She will spend 20 minutes making sure she is close to you as she can be. #velcrodog She seems to enjoy coexistence with my dogs and cat as long as they do not lay on her. She is all the good things a chi can be. She has a wonderful appetite, she also sleeps quietly through the night, and she doesn’t seem to be a big barker either. She needs reassurance, but has been so pleasant. If you give her the opportunity she is house trained and she does fine in a cage in the car and while I am gone. Though it does mean she cannot touch me, which hurts a little. She is a very impressive little dog."If you would like to inquire into adopting this pet, PLEASE CALL OR TEXT 812-929-7832***Please contact the owner directly***

Story
Posted 6/30/2025 Please read the entire description before contacting us. Thank you so much! Ace was found as a stray near a vet office. No one claimed him and so one of the veterinarians decided to take him home. Unfortunately Ace is reactive with most members of the family and it was deceided that he would be better off in a household with no children. We don't know what happened to this pup. He is definitely fearful and standoffish with people he does not know. He does bite when you try to trim the hair in his face and snaps when he feels threatened. It is possible that he had a bad experiencey while he was groomed as he freaks out and bites when you try to put a muzzle on. Ace has to be fully sedated at a vet office to be groomed. We believe that with the right human who is patient and willing to work with him for a period of time, Ace's behavior can improve significantly. He most likely will have to always be sedated for grooming though. Ace is about 2 years old, vaccinated, neutered, tested for heartworm and he is on heartworm/flea prevention. He is sweet but fearful and needs to be approached carefully. He takes a while to warm up. He is house broken and very good in the car. He also walks well on a leasd. For Ace we are looking for people who understand his behavior and who are willing to work with him on losing his fear and become a happy dog. For Ace we are looking for need a calm and quiet home with a securely fenced in yard, no children at all. Ace generally gets along with other dogs if they are little. It would be best though if he could be an only pet. If you are up to the challenge and interested in adopting Ace please fill out an adoption application on our web site. Email us if you have any questions or if you don't hear from us within 48 hours of sending an adoption application.
