The following is the Description from the Foster when Blue was at the Shelter - "Do you like being stared at? Do you wish you had a little dog that is pretty sure you make the sunrise? Meet Blue, she tries so hard to make her human happy. She truly thrives on human attention and touch. She enjoys curling up in a blanket. She will spend 20 minutes making sure she is close to you as she can be. #velcrodog She seems to enjoy coexistence with my dogs and cat as long as they do not lay on her. She is all the good things a chi can be. She has a wonderful appetite, she also sleeps quietly through the night, and she doesn’t seem to be a big barker either. She needs reassurance, but has been so pleasant. If you give her the opportunity she is house trained and she does fine in a cage in the car and while I am gone. Though it does mean she cannot touch me, which hurts a little. thth.Bobarino is a sweet little man who just wants a few pats and a lot of snacks. He is 11 years old and weighs 15 lbs. He's actually small but mighty in that he's got a bit of a chunky stature. He is fine with other dogs but is very cat aggressive. Bobarino enjoys barking at strangers and happy dancing when his people feed him. He has zero aggression, he just likes to let people know he's in charge.  Bobarino is neutered, updated on vaccinations, had a recent vet well visit and will be ready for his forever home after his dental on January 19th. We would also consider a new foster home for him if there's a home available that would like to shower him with love but can't commit to a long-term home . Cheeto is a nearly 4-year old long-haired chihuahua mix that weighs 20lbs. He came to our rescue after his owner passed away. He was adopted last February (2025) and returned to us in May when he needed emergency surgery that his adopter was unwilling to pay for. During the surgery his duodenum was removed due to genetic abnormalaties. He has recovered well from the surgery and the only concern is that he might be prone to pancreatitis as he ages, which can be tempered by a special diet. Cheeto can be a little shy at firstand will spend a good hour or two barking at strangers but once he warms up he's a big lover boy. Cheeto is super playful and just an all around fun, little love bug. He enjoys snuggle time and gets along well with other dogs. He has not been around cats (that we are aware of) but we doubt he'd have any issues getting along with them. He's a pretty easy-going fella. Cheeto has been aruond children ages 4-8 and did well with them. Toddlers might be a bit too intimidating for him as he prefers calm over busyness. Cheeto's adoption fee is $175 and includes a vet wellness check, age-appropriate vaccinations, neuter and microchip. We have had Bella since she was 3 months old. She just turned 9 in Nov of 2025. She weighs 4lbs. Unfortunately our work schedules are hampering us from being able to give her the love & care she needs. She's great w/ kids & other dogs. We have never had her around cats so I don't know but I'm sure she would be fine. We had to put our pitty down which was her best friend so now she's at home alone all day by herself. I am not looking for any money just want her to go to a good home that can show her the love and attention she needs.

Feta Cheese was surrendered, along with his sibling Gouda, to the Muncie Animal Control shelter. Gouda got adopted, but Feta didn't. He did not do well in the shelter environment, so he came to Chihuahua Rescue. Although he was neutered in Muncie, Feta's shots were not brought up to date; we fixed that. Feta's crate training has insured his potty training! You just need to put him in a crate when he will not be supervised. He's not thrilled to go into his crate, but if you toss a small treat in there, he will go right in. He LOVES going for long walks on a leash or doing zoomies in a securely fenced backyard. He is very interested in wildlife, especially squirrels, mice, rabbits and toads. Unfortunately, he's pretty hard on them. When he's frightened, Feta can be a bit snappy so his adopter will need to go slowly in establishing a relationship with him. Once he trusts you, which happens fairly quickly, Feta's warm and snuggly. Feta is a smart dog, and he needs to be kept busy. He will find something to entertain himself if you don't provide it. He completed Beginning Obedience Class at PetSmart in December 2023; he needs continued practice to be sure he retains and improves on his lessons. In the meantime, approved chew toys for "aggressive chewers" are must (he will come with his current black Kong). While he's not a fan of big dogs, Feta gets on well with the other 5 small dogs at his foster's house, except he is concerned about his bowl at feeding time. Eating in his crate keeps that issue under control. Feta hasn't been tested with cats or children yet but should do well with older kids who can take the time to get to know him. Thanks to a donated DNA test we now know that Feta Cheese is Chihuahua 35.0%, Shih Tzu 33.6%, American Pit Bull Terrier 9.6%, Pekingese 7.8%, Boston Terrier 7.2%, Beagle 3.6%, Bloodhound 3.4% which all adds up to 100% All-American Dog!!
